I don't know how much air you have pushing in your res's. I was under the impression 1 watt per gallon. That might fix the root problem also I don't know if its the hygrozyme but my roots are exploding and look very fresh and healthy white. I dont have a chiller either and my room temp is about 79 daily and 75 at night. Hopefully this helps.

Started using Heisenbergs microbial Tea.. Got huge improvments in root size then previous. Going to be throwing 2 girls in a 3x3 closet soon and make the White rhino into a monther, not sure if itl be sized enough for scrogging anytime soon.

-3x3 Tent, 150 Cfm Charcoal filter, 100cfm Cool air Intake
-100w t5 veg+100w Cfl's
-400w Hps Flower
-x2 scrogg nets in DWC
Strains: Og Kush, Strawberry Cough

Kinda loaded right now but just wanted to say good luck on your dro grow. I recently tried dwc and loved it. I have 3 buckets going now and also I noticed no difference in taste as a lot of people say happens with dro.

Got a deal on amazon for 4x 85w Cfl bulbs ima use for the rest of veg and maybe flowering.. got them setup look real nice

Ill be switching to a cooltube 600W/400W Hps havent made up my mind on the wattage just yet... not sure if 600W is really needed in such a small space.

I would say 400W is more than sufficient for 2 plants in that space, 600W will just boost you yield/heat ahah

400W gets pretty damn hott in the tent.. gonna need a cooltube for sure.
