Hey man, this is sweeeeet!

I'm using uncle Ben's technique as well, but i'm gonna chop at 3 nodes cause i'm low on space. Also my plant is a sativa...as far as i know.
I'm growing in the AG with CLF's for flowering do you have any major suggestions?

Love your work +rep.
How much did that last plant weigh? (1.5 Oz? surely more!)

Peace
J

Thanks CaveChest. I do have suggestions for you.
If you top above the 3rd node, you will get 2 main colas, and your plant will be alot taller because of it. If you're low on space you should really top above the 2nd node for 4 colas becauise this will keep your plant significantly shorter. A sativa will definitely triple in height during flowering.
Keep your CFL's as close as you can. 1-3 inches. And use mostly red or "warm" spectrum to flower but make sure you do have some blue or "cool" spectrum as well. Some blue light while flowering will reduce the early flowering "stretch" you will get.
Good luck with your grow.
I expect 2 Oz dry from this quadzilla. It vegged 4 weeks and flowered 11.

Geeze, well i'm on my second now so i suppose i'll give it a chop now...
Thanks for the advice bro.
Ooooh also, when did you start flowering once it broke into 4 branches?

I'll post pics soon :)

Your best bet is to let it grow to about 5 nodes and then top above the 2nd node. This is a specific method. I know it seems like a waste letting it grow to 5 nodes and then chopping all that off, but its worth it. It grows back with a vengence. Basically you are cutting the plant in half. So you end up with half a plant with the root system of a whole plant. This allows the 4 colas to really take off. You can even clone the top (that you cut off) if you want to save it.
I believe I started to flower about 2 weeks after I topped it.

Owww.....
Well i just chopped the top of my plant and it was at 2 nodes (making its 3rd)
Dam.....Should have waited
Ahh well lets see how it goes, and yes i did put the little top of the plant in an extra grow sponge to see how it would do.

Despite my mistake, i am confident in the ways of the plant :D

Yeah it should still be OK, it will just take a little longer to really get going now. You should still get 4 nice tops. Shoot me a link when you get your pics up. Good luck.

74 days 12/12 for the one on the left, 4 weeks for the potassium starved one on the right.
Fade to yellow? This one I think has a bad K def.

Well after a whole lotta tryin I finally got a handle on cloning this plant. It must just be a difficult strain to clone. I've cloned this plant 4 times using 4 different methods and each time it has taken at least 4 weeks to get roots. Mom has been flowering for 4 weeks now. And this is the 1st rooted clone I got from her. Cup of dirt method. No domes, no airstones, no hormones, no rock wool, nothing. I took a cutting, stuck it in a cup of dirt and waited for new growth. 4 weeks passed and I noticed new growth. I vegged it for about 3 weeks, then topped it cuz it was getting too tall. Here it is after 2 weeks in the flower tent.

I've flowered this strain before and I know what to expect from it. It likes to yellow and drop leaves early. The mom started turning yellow immediately after switching to 12/12. Then sure enough when i put this one to flower it started to fade out as well. I theorized that this was due to inadequate potassium in my soilmix. So i have been feeding with some FF Hydroponic GrowBig (3-2-6), and it is definitely helping. This plant (pictured above) has greened up again and mom seems to be getting her color back as well.
I can't say always...but in this instance....
Lime green top, mid to lower yellowing, fan leaves with darker green margins, some leaves dying and drying = Potassium def.

first of all subscribed +rep lookin great.
in my opinion if your having trouble with cloning, maybe its because the plant is on flower. i suggest flowering it, smoke some bud, then reveg it maybe the clones wil root easier:peace:

Thanks for stopping by and for the advise. I'm considering a re-veg attemp on a plant I have flowering now and I would like to keep the genetics. All previous cloning attempts where done with vegging females. I'm looking for a different strain to clone now anyway. Besides always taking 4 weeks to clone its not the most potent strain anyway. It does make big buds and finishes quickly (8-10 weeks) though, which is why i choose it to begin with. :peace:
