Advice From Experienced Growers?

This is the easy rider auto fem strain, i am growing outside in uk. The weather has been terrible recently. These are pictures of my plant 23 days old, i think she is very slow growth. I am growing without any nutes, will this make a big difference? Any advice, critisims or help would be great.

It looks slow because you transplanted straight into a large pot. It's better to put the newly germinated seedling into a solo cup or (I use)
4-inch pots. Transplanting a seedling into a field like that means the plant will spend weeks waiting for the roots to reach the outside of
the pot. You want the roots to hit the side ASAP because that is the signal for the plant to grow upwards. I put seedlings into a 4-inch pot
and leave them there 2 weeks. They are mildly rootbound and so get bushy like I want them.

I'd add that nutrients are very important. Look at a man's uniform in the Civil War. He was 5foot 2 on average and 140lbs. Normal man today 6ft 180. We aren't selecting for taller genetics now, we understand nutrition.

Also, remember that the leaves will not grow past the pot rim until the roots have already hit the side of the pot. Took me years to figure out that little nugget.

You're welcome ;), BigSteve.

thanks big steve, i havent acctually transplanted it at all, i planted it straight into the big pot, and even though its very slow growth, will it still reach the same size in the end and produce the same yield?
Thanks, drslimey

It should reach the same size yield...etc, but because the roots are spending so much time setting themselves in the dirt, you may notice a slow growing veg, until the roots are all settled, then you might have a large jump in size with a small bump in nutrient strength. Timing the grow down to the day is important if you want a consistent veg/flower period. From now on definitely start in a mouthwash small cup, move to a solo cup, then 1.5 gal, then 5 (or 7). It may sound like a lot, but allowing the roots to get to the point where they pre-ball up and bind and transplanting it right when the roots start to hit the edges of your cup allows for the fastest growth with the least amount of stress and growth loss.

Outside in the U K m8 i will be surprised if yer wee plants make it ,but good luck and while there young move the pot size bk down ,and you might get yer grow going it wont do harm any hoo...:weed:
