Brand new to the game . I got a 39 x39 - 6.5 tall grow tent . I am going to use it for vegetation , i am trying to light it up well with out having to use a lighting that requires a ballast .
I got four 225 bulb -blue led panels . I plan on hanging them on top . Will this be enough ? Or do i need more lighting ? Maybe on the sides , let me know . :-|

i would try the panels just to see if they end up producing anything good... additionally, this forum is for Roll It Up support, what you're looking for is "Grow Room Design & Setup"

Good luck! Let us know how everything goes.

These Chinese made 225 LED panels are a joke, despite the claims you'll be lucky if they last 6 months. I'm sorry that you bought them because they are one of the biggest scams in grow lights.

Pure blue is a bad idea except for maybe mother plants. The problem with blue photons is that they will suppress a class of growth hormones called auxins. This is why we use lights with some blue (metal halide) in veg growth- the blue light helps prevent elongation. We need lots of auxin in the flowering stage so we use a light the kicks out very few blue photons (high pressure sodium).

Auxin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your 5mm LED arrays are going to perform very poorly, I have 120 watts worth of LEDs, both low power 5mm arrays and high power arrays, and they are a complete joke for growing.

You have a little over 10 square feet of grow area. If your are serious about growing then get a 400 or 600 watt HPS. Your weak LEDs panel simple are not going to give you good growth particularily in the flowering stage. Yes, I know what the manufactuer and seller says, they're full of BS.

Your welcome and I'm sorry that the seller mislead you about the effectiveness of these panels. We're in the same boat! I also use LEDs as supplements since I already have them.

I can tell ya the blues retard growth. My first grow with em I ended up with a bunch of tiny 4" palm trees.
