Advice on what to buy please

Hello new to forum and growing and really fancy giving this a go.

I'm on a small budget for a first grow , so i was wondering if someone could list everything ill need to start growing.

I have a closet in the spare room thats about 4ft wide x 2ft deep and 6 ft high.

How many plants would you recommend in that space and how many i'm i allowed in the uk before they take me to court etc if i do get caught lol?

also theres no way i can have the exhaust blowing outside , is this a big issue for say 4 plants?

you're going to need to put in work reading....it's a lot for someone to write out...
list would be like...lights,fans,carbon filter,pots for soil,nutes,pesticides,soil
is smell the reason you can't vent outside?

Alot of your answers can be answered by doing some simple research and reading. Your best to read the stickies and start clicking on some links.

thanks for both your replies and no its not the smell , i live in a terraces house and the closet is in the middle of the house so to speak , so i dont want pipes running across rooms or to be drilling holes in walls tbh.

Do you have an attic or a crawl space above your place? If so vent through the ceiling. Light, soil, perlite, ph test kit with ph down, 2+ fans, plastic tarp to keep out light, tarp for floor to prevent damage from spills, nutrients, pots, humidifier or dehumidifier depending on climate, spray bottle. That should be good to start (unless I've forgotten anything lol). You will definitely need to pick up more tools along the way (the hobby is a money pit, but pays off in the long run.. or atleast I'm hoping lol).

You got a lot of restrictions. You might just stick to one or two plants under a cfl with a lot of room odor control products. Get past your first grow. That's where you learn everything.

I spent 6 months researching before I made the leap. And I didn't post threads on forums until way into the grow and I had issues that deviated from what I read in books.

They will eat you alive posting basic questions like that. We want you to put in the time first. For what it's worth.

See, now your thinking :clap:.

So make up your list of things you plan on getting and post it up here for us. Then we can tell you if your missing anything, or maybe getting something you dont need. Then you are showing us you are doing your work to help yourself out too. :grin:

lamp - i tried searching for Hid light and fond nothing on uk ebay.
Nutes - which would you suggest? ( im on a low budget remember so , an all in one would be great if possible)

pots
compost - think i'll go for a garden centre brand with a balanced ph.

lamp wiring - i cant find them now but ill need 3 light extensions with 3 y splitters = 6 CFL's

Well for the Mylar I have seen a lot if people cheap out and buy emergency blankets, so I know you can save there. As for nutes, most shops sell their own generic brand which is normally cheaper. Personally I don't cheap out on them and get good ones. I use a combination of advanced nutrients products.

You should try cfl for your first grow, great beginners way to grow I think. You can pick up all the stuff you need for that at Home Depot... Or a store similar to it. Just my thought for you tho.

OH!!! GET A TIMER! lol. Can't believe I left that out. I use Jack's Veg and Jack's Bloom for nutes. They're pretty cheap, but work well it seems. If you use the Fox Farms OC you don't have to use any nutes for 3-5 weeks so you can wait on those for now. Splitters and surge prtectors can be bought at a dollar genneral for cheap if you have those. $7 fans at home depot work great. searchs hps light on ebay. The budget grow II is a great deal for a 600w and comes with reflector and cool tube for upper 100's. If you wanna save more money you can get industrial aluminum foil instead of mylar

I see you said UK ! My friend I stayed with put his togather for about 65 pounds. I don't think they sell Fox there you can drive out to the country side and get better soil mix off the side of ride. Start by checking out your salvage stores ( there salvage stores are like our thift store but big ) we found most of the stuff there he needed for reflector and light, fans. Your garden store he just ask for stuff to grow tomato plants. I wish I could show you guys reflector we made its the one I'm using now but is longer. He lived in Winchester. Fun time !!!

If you decide to do CFL check out your local hydro store. My local store sells 125w CFLs that put out around 10500 lums. and will grow 1 or 2 big plants for cheap. good beginner set up :weed:

thanks for all your inputs , Cfl looks like the way forward tbh.
