The normal humidity where you live ought make quite a difference. In general, I think you ought to be able to get by without a dehumidifier though.
As for PH, you can at least get a little test kit for $6 or so to see where your water is starting. If it seems alright, then you ought to be fine. I'm sure plenty of sticklers here will disagree with me, but this is based on my experience.

thanks again, would there be any types of stores locally that would have a ph test kit? and how do i change the ph lvl, if it is to high or to low?

check out a fish tank/aquarium supply store. also, they sell ph up and down in hydro garden stores.. they'll prolly run you 14 each for the smallest bottles i've seen, around here anyway. If that's too steep for you (Im gettting the feeling you're crazy young or broke or somethin..no offense) you can look online for a ph chart and many show household items as basic or acidic.. you can dilute those to adjust... if you're desperate. honestly though I've grown pot with tap water... dont sweat it tooooo much.but really get a kit.

I wouldnt even attempt to grow without something to read ph that I think is more important part of growing. If you start to mess up ph all your doing is locking out nutes, stressing the plant and ultimately sacrificing that precious yield. Humidity really isnt as important I dont use a humidifier and my humidity is usually about 25-40%. Sativas like a fairly lower humidity than indica. I have 5 100% sativas and like I said theyre fine with the 25-30%.

More info needed...

You don't need a lot - I use pretty much the bare minimum (plantpots, compost, plants, a light, a cupboard to grow in and some plantfood for the water...)

If you've got them you really don't NEED any more (if your growing for personal consumption that is...) :weed:
