Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone had some advice. I gave up on the seeds so I put them in this pot, and one started growing. So, they're gonna have to fight it out. Been using tap water from the start. Probably really bad cause I'm in the city. What can I find around the house with a lot of Nit? 60 watt soft white bulb. and...light cycle?

well waters probaly least of your problems. first off your light needs to be way closer and it needs to either be compact fluorescent or tube fluorescent and im guessing u arnt up for h.i.d lights. normal incandescent lights wont work too much heat and wrong spectrum. just go to home depot or w/e and pick up a few compacts and have them about 2 -3 inces away 18 hours on 6 off or 24 hours w/e you want and with a fan blowing on the plant. and since ur using tap water let it sit out for about 24 hours to help rid of chlorine and get it to room temp.

my advice...which isnt nice...is dont waste your time until you get a lil more ambition in your life...that plant is way too tall for the # of nodes and why not just start out some in sum 16oz cups...double gulp cup from 7-11 works well for the 1st month maybe longer and a cpl cfls from wal-mart is less than $10 and pots r cheap as hell so is soil...or if you really wanna keep this 1 then move it a lot closer to the light and ditch the other plant

Hey, go get some daylight cfl from walmart 6.50 for 2 bulbs. Put the bulbs around 2" from the top of the plant, keep the light on for 18 hours and turned off for 6. This plant is really stretched out so try to keep an eye on it. If it is still alive in a week or two try to put more soil around the stock. This will be a good challenge for you. Good Luck....

Use this as an experiment, learn as much as you can so when you buy some serious seeds you won't waste them....
Good luck dude! :peace:

is that aluminum foil if it is i think you will read sumwhere that the way it reflects light will burn the leaves not sure if this is true with those little lights though i think you have allot of reading to do before you attempt a second grow. how do you plan to flower with what lights those arn't gonna do it. keep readn on this sight ppl will guide you im no expert but that looks like sumthing i would have done when i was 14 yrs old and probably did do. paint the room flat white keep the light close with a fan on it, don't over love it and learn from what you read. good day sir

Looks decent to me so far. The only problem is that I would take that cactus or whatever the hell that other plant is out asap. Also, that stem is suuuuper stretched. I wouldn't doubt it if it would fall over the next day. Those 2 lights are decent for now. Also, take out the foil paper as they create hot spots and can burn the plant. Use silver/reflective gift wrap instead.

Ya, no foil, so that a good start.
bring the lights closer. get rid of the other plant and fill over with soil to the brim of the pot. The other thing is thoes lights look like warm or soft white. You need daylight 6500k cfls for vegging. Get if you can 26w/100w daylight cfl.

looks similar to what im doing with the 2 into 1 light adapter, i have 4 of those setups in a 2 1/2 ft by 2tf 4ft high closet space.....i totally agree about switching to the 6500K lights, thats what i nned to do also, in using 8 26W cfl's 2700K spectrum, they WIL WORK but you;ll have a slower growth. thats a very tall plant to be that minorly developed. 1 theory....when it gets a bit more nodes in, transplant to a DEEPER pot and add extar soil to cover the long stem, will addd stability for when "she" wides up, just a thought, best of luck

Hey 311,
In the veg stage the daylight cfl is the closest to a MH bulb. The rating is 6500K (blue spec.) The warm/soft cfl is closest to HPS bulb. The rating is 2700K(redish spec.) Good for flower.
Now the real question ? will this work?
The dl cfl that I use have about 1600-1850 lumens. each. and use 26w of power. x 6 bulbs = 9600lumesn-11,100lumens
The bulbs cost me $6.50 for two. x 3 = around $20.00
anyway- yes they work, not as good as a hps system.
Your plants will be smaller and probably weaker.
The good thing that I like about these is that they don't give off a lot of heat so you can use them a very small area which is good for stealth setups.
Hope this helped

the "soft white" cfl's i have are 1600 lumens, just like your "daylight" cfl's. any comments?
is the rating still different?
should i keep them for later?
