Hi people,
Long time lurker first time poster here!

I have had my plant on 12/12 for 20 days now and still cannot see any signs of sex showing,

She was vegged for 30 days
White widow plant in soil.
She has been growing great and is over 2ft tall now and over 1 ft wide.
she has alternate nodes too.
I'm using nearly 200w of 2700k cfl's

My question is... Is this normal for it to take over 3 weeks and is there anythink i can do to help it along?

There is A FEW SMALL CRACKS around the frame of the grow box but i keep it well covered and i'm sure that is not the problem.

Any suggestions anyone?

patience young grasshoppa, lol.. not sure where i heard that but ive been wanting to use it. it will happen soon, mine took about the same amount of time, any day now you should be able to see sex

I have heard of 2 weeks but not 3, is there a certain node that thay will appear on first?

ive heard you see em on the 4th node, but not too sure.

id imagine you see them towards the top more any ways

if itys a sativa or more sative dominate then yes it will take a bit longer toset flower and could be a 12 to 14 week flowercycle..

No light going into the box, 100% no brighter than a full moom outside, inside the box.
That is 200 actuall watts btw.

She was a feminized seed so it should be female( fingers crossed)

Fourth node up is usually the first place you can see signs with the naked eye,but my girls hit the nail on the head if
the sativa gene is more dominant in the seed's you got then you might have to wait a bit longer,it can happen,
you got at least an 80% chance if you got fem seed's,you can always use a magnifying glass to see if there are any pistils showing
further on up in the newer growth,but patience is king when growing mj,

Sounds like you have a female with how wide it is, I wouldent worry about that, my plant showed sex on day 15 or so on the 3rd node from top, day after they where everywhere.

IF there is a problem it will be that your 12 hours of darkness are not dark enough, meaning your plant is still vegging.

Make sure your grow area is DARK, really dark. and then you have to sit on your hands till the sex shows.

mine showed up right on top along with the new growth on the main branches or colas, and mine was more sativa dominant so it took a while longer like mygirls said, the first thing you need when growing is patience

will show it's sex any day now. patience is a virtue. i have a male that is 7' tall and almost 3' wide. not too happy about it.

another good sign is that males typicly grow big faster and show sex sooner
and the most potent females tend to be the runt and take longer to show sex

Great news people!

I have just spotted the little white hairs at 3rd node down from the top, but nowhere else yet.

Do i count this as days one of flowering?

well it would be argued, Personally I would call flowering day 1, day 1 of 12/12.

People call it different things, but I do know alot of people tha would call it day 1 now.

Just for note mine is 75% Sativa.
