Aero/nft --> NFT

I'm thinking of drilling a small hole in the bottom of the end cap, and cycling the pump, kind of like a ebb and flow/nft,
Anyone got input on that??

Pump is cycling 30on hour off,
So far the fill drain dft is working ok,
without the drain my roots were turning brownish, stiff. I think they were drowning..
Hopefully allowing the water out and the roots to get air should help?
I was thinking a h2o2 flush to oxygenate the roots..

Next run I guess I will try flooding as well just always had great luck with constant flood. With a flood timed is there really any need for air pump? Thats the whole reason for drain cycle correct? To oxygenate root zone.

You can never have too big of a rez but you can easily have to small of a rez. Think of your rez like your cock. If you had a choice, would you want a big cock or a little cock. If you can't figure it out go ask your girlfriend...

A large rez will stay cooler, have less PPM fluctuation, less PH change. When the plants use up the water you don't have to worry about the PPM rising as much. Drawbacks? It might cost a couple of bucks more to buy and another few bucks to add more nutes each change. Do a risk analysis... What are you risking vs. what are your rewards.

And...listen to Superstoner, he knows his shit!
ow shit man i thought i was the only one that thought along those lines big cock is a better cock just gota brake that pussy down till it shakes and shivers 2 times!!! so were does that put it at got grow it right??? RIGHT!!!!!

I'm thinking of running an air pump just I keep the water circulating in the res. Since the time is off for a two hour stretch I though that's a good while for stale water. Once the pump kicks in it does oxygenate the water, just thinking it would hurt to keep the water moving.

So when I noticed the root rot I changed te timer, and then went to each root system and pulled the slimy old rotted roots out of the bunch. They slide right off with little effort allowing any root that had a chance at life to stay intact,
With the new time cycle the Roots get lots of oxygen on the off cycle which allows no pyth to stick around...
Just put the second set of plants in and they are looking great so far, since I only have room for two pipe systems +res so I'm thinking of doin a dwc with 2 plants just so I have something I harvest on that 6 week gap,...

That's why a recycle timer is critical in aero.
I assume u mean to keep the water/nute temp down or the stem wetting-drying cycle??????

One thing I learned about these "store bought" cloners -----they don't tell u the solution temp is going to heat up about 10 degrees above ambient.

Yes I concur with Superstoner you will need a bigger res. I ran only. 4 autos with a 15 gal tub for a res and was adding back nutrients every 3-4 days. I think your 30 gal tub might suffice tho

Agreed. 6 here uses up nearly 30 gallons per week @ 6 weeks flower minus any evap. Go big bro. He's right
He's right. When things are dialled in (not often lately lol) I am getting way down and real close to running dry by end of 5 days. Its been a bit though. This run doesn't seem to be a problem :(.
