thats awesome i told my girl next thing i gotta learn is how to grow mushrooms, she said no, she thought you had to grow them on poop, but i let her know that you dont, where did you get your spores?

These have been in the res AG 41 days now. Started flowering two weeks ago. Went to a mix of FF Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom one tsp. ea. per gallon. Six plants and still have not not seen any nuts signaling male sex. One is suspect but still cannot really tell. Added a SunBlaze 24" T-5 HO flourescent fixture today with a mixture of grow & bloom lamps and removed the AG hood. Am using it to direct its light from the side. Grow so far has been very smooth with no crisis incidents. I have cut a few fan leaves maybe five. Still waiting for the damn mylar to arrive in the mail. So far, so good.

dude i know its alittle late but go get u an emergency blanket. thats mylar. i got it from Wal-Mart for 2 dollars.

Alright, here are my five females, all from seed. I dont know what I did to make so many females come out. I just tried to keep the temp down and didnt hook up the HPS until I started flowering a few weeks ago. Probably more like 10 or 12 days ago. I'm using Foxfarm nut.'s. I used grow big for the 3-4 weeks of veg. Now I'm gradually upping the big bloom and tiger bloom nut.'s for the flowering. The only other shit to say is I used rockwool for two of the plants, and the aerosponge for the rest. Also everytime i make up a batch of water i use fish tank aquarium PH down, also I put in atleast a teaspoon of Hydrogen Peroxide. Any questions or comments let 'em roll. Later on...

by the way,nirvanafreak, i just ordered my spores from spores101.com.

i ordered them 5-5-08 and got them 5-15-08 in a nice little brown box that fit in the mail box. regular mail. i ordered 4 strains which may have been a little overkill considering how many mushrooms you supposedly get.

make sure you read the disclaimer and don't live in the bad states. there are four or five states that NOBODY will ship too.

Hey misty... I'd stay away from the hydrogen peroxide, because if your using the foxfarm big bloom, im pretty sure it has active microbes or some shit in it, and the hydrogen peroxide will kill them....

Other wise looks good man keep it up!

i got all my starting info on the hallucinatory substance forum here at ROLLITUP.

it is just a few sections down past this hydroponic section.

but anyhow, shroomery.org is a great place to read and get info for growing, hunting just about everything. check out the PFTEK recipe. thats what i going on.

i have everything i need including the 10gal aquarium incubation chamber.

sporeworks, hawkseye and spores101 are the places to buy from.

i used spores101 and heres why. they had the same disclaimer as everyone else about illegal states. they had same shipping procedures as everyone else(inconspicuous packaging) and after doing all the research i needed on which POTENT strains to get spores101 had most of my choices.

and again, they say 7-10 business days and they got me mine on day 9

h2o2 probably should be used in the event of a problem. if using with every day watering then probably low concentrations would be good.

HYGROZYME is a little pricey but it works wonders. i cut 3 males just above the AG cup and left the roots to rot. the HYGROZYME dissolved the males roots and fed it to the females..this can be used or root rot for sure. doesn't seem to bother my plants to have it all the time and it affects the ph to no degree.

i use this as an additive to my pre mixes everytime.

Forgot about the damn emergency blankets. I've read that on the site before & just forgot about it.

What temp are you averaging ? I've been amazed that all my plants seem to be female. My temps in the grow area hve averaged 65 degrees. Probably 15 degrees cooler than my last grow. Last grow I only got two females. This time it appears to be all six. Maybe the temp is an issue on sex?

heres a list of things that can pot. up your female to male ratio, temp around 65* is one of them

Well my temp def. wasnt 65. I've never gotten it that low. I know high heat will stress them into being a male or even into being hermie. Thats why I waited 'till flowering to add my HPS, low watt though it may be. I didn't want to let the heat run away. I'm gonna stop using that peroxide first thing though. Later on...

your temps are still to high in the AG you can do acouple of things.

1.) freeze single serving container of water bottle and place into res until fan leaves provide sum more shade.

2.) run enough air stones to shut off your AG pump.
i run my light thru another cord.(cut and hack) so the only thing the AG plugged in was the pump.
that will reduce heat from pumping water. i actually run 4 single 1 inch air stones on a 4 bank regulator. i broke one and i am now down to three. my plants seem to have stopped growing. i think i will replace it.

aslong as you have air you are fine. dont need pumpif roots in water. this also solves the issue of getting roots IN your pump from it running.

so with my pump off and down to three stones, my plants have slowed their budding growth. thats my theory and i stickin to it.

I don't know what you guys are on about high temps making plants male. ALL 7 of my mother plants that are growing in my AG's turned out to be females and my temps average 86-90 degrees with one extra 150w CFL with a 18/6 veg cycle. Lights off temps average 70-72 degrees. I guess it is because i run my exhaust and osculating fans on 24-7. I know my plants love it. I also start feeding my seedlings 1/4 strengths nutes after day 7 from sprout. Check out the pics in my journal.

i think the issue was RES temps not ROOM temps, but i could be stoned or not paying attention cause i getting stoned.

my room temps run high 80s sometimes with lights on and high 60s-low 70s with off.

BUT with my AG water pump unplugged, my RES temps are considerably lower than with it on.

Lol.. i am a little stoned myself. I've been smoking on some lemon skunk and purple star that i got to hold me over 60 days until harvest. My rez temps average between 72-86 degrees and i haven't had any problems. The SubCulture and air stones may be helping avoid any root rot issues. I also run my AG pumps and the air stones 24-7.
