Hi Folks,

I using a Aerogarden veggie pr0 - I have germinated my seeds (on a wet piece of tissue) and have moved them to the aerogarden.

Should I have the lights on 24/7? in this early stage of growth?

You might want to try something my teacher suggested to us: start them on 20 hours on and four off and reduce the light by one hour each week until you get to 12/12. It should be just as fast and he claims we'll get better flowering production and better results. I'm going to try it next grow because I respect his opinion and it makes sense.

question here, when i checked on my germinating seed i notice that the tap root was about 2 1/2 inches long. Problem i ran into is when i drilled a little hole inside the grow sponge i went to place the root in there and it snapped. Will this kill the plant or will it just keep on growing? another question is when do i add nutrients? right now its just plain water in the reservoir. thanks for your help

All the more reason to plant it where it's going to grow. I had the same heart break and it's hard on the wallet too.
