Aeroponic pump timers???

So I am switching to an aeroponic system and have yet to purchase a timer for the pump. I have been looking at several recycle timers, some adjustable and the 1:4 set timers. are there any alternatives that are around $25 and not $70. If there is not a cheaper alternative I am able to purchase the nice one. I will also start a grow journal for my aero madness.

I look forward to your journal. Few weeks away from my first aero grow. My first grow period. Cheapest recycle I found was $80.

Can you recommend a good read for an aero/grower newbie? Several questions still unanswered.:weed:

Thanks

I read through a bunch of Earl's and Stinkbud's stuff. These two guys have alot to offer. I am doing a 4" pvc shuttle-ma-jigga with 2" net cups and ez-clone heads with a 396 ecoplus pump. I just got a ppm meter which I am excited to use. I still have a few questions about amount of nuts and things like that, but I am just going to start my setup and let RIU be my co-pilot and see what happens.

Will a digital timer work?

Product Information

Using a timer to automate your lighting adds convenience and encourages productive growth with consistent hours of light. Timers are also essential for all hydroponic system applications.

  • 1 Minute On/Off
  • Up to 8 On/Offs per day
  • Different Days & Cycles
  • Controls 2 outlets simultaneously
  • 15 amps
  • Includes convenient clam shell packaging

The problem with using that kind of timer is that you only have so many on/off selections per day. Not to mention the 20min your going to be sitting there trying to set it correctly.
I found one at lowes that could do 30 changes per day. But I find the easiest method to be the old school push button timers where you just push in the notches and have an alternating patters. You would only get to 15min on and 15 off.

Or just spend the $80 and be done with it... haha

I wish digital would work, It needs to be a recycle timer. Thanks for the suggestion though.

On a different note, I just baked some cookies with some cannabutter. Used about a quarter for one stick, only made 15 cookies. I plan on eating 3 cookies tomorrow for breakfast and then going on a bike ride.

I'll check out the threads. I found a Aeroflo20 cheap and bought it. Total CFL's from http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=119&xSec=76

My question is what schedule to spray the roots? 1 /10 minutes? Can't find anything in threads..Think I'm going from clones to flower, SoG style, as I'm limited on space. I did read liquid nutes are preferable for aero. Driving blind myself and hope for best w/assist from RIU.
http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=119&xSec=76 here's a timer that was on ebay for about $70.:weed:

I found the adjustable CAP timer for about $70, probably going to go with that. Super bummer, my clone hook-up just fell through, so now I have to drive an hour and a half to get some that aren't even exactly what I want.
Gotta love living in kern county.

www.hugeharvest.com. best price i have found on a timer.
h8popo, you have also influenced the design of my system. gonna use test caps for the ends.

So, I am an impatient bastard and have decided to start my DWC up tommorow and to hold off on the starting the aero for a few weeks. I will use clones from my DWC for the aero.

oh, here is a good link:

I am probably going have to wait a few weeks to buy mine, so dont buy all them up before then. Oh, and about this plus rep thing, what is it and what does it so?

Oh and I would like to post pics, but the other half says no.

I agree with above 24-7 for pump is the best to start with just watch that the pump does not heat up your reservoir the higher the temp the worse it is for your roots 70 degrees is about the highest I would sugest. As far as nutrients you cannot go wrong with the General Hydroponic products, easy to use 3 part. Also start low with your nutrient strength 3/4 to 1/2 what is suggested your plants won't need as much in Aero. Look through FilthyFletch's, Earl's, and Al B. Fucts threads it's the best info on here IMO.
