As for going to war for the women, I agree that we as a country can't and didn't do that. Shit we just fully made it a crime to beat/rape women here in America in what the 90's?

But to come off as so high and mighty about people very truly concerned about the horrors that is going to take place just shows your fucked up view of your fellow humans man, that is on you.

I only care about things that I can affect, or in this case America. America cannot fix their problem so I don't care. Yes, it's all horrible. So are all the other things in the world not on your radar that you don't care about.

If you don’t watch the news you don’t have to worry about any of this shit til it pops up on a weed growing forum, lol. I had vaguely heard that we pulled out and it’s collapsing, but since I’m not force fed propaganda by national news, I’m more worried about what’s going on at home and what’s best for me and my community. The news just makes people worried and angry.

As far as Afghanistan what were we supposed to do, just leave troops their forever? You know how many guys my age have ptsd and shit from being over there, you wanna continue to do that to future generations? There are plenty of problems right here in our own communities that the money and man power that went into that war could have easily fixed.

I’m not sure but if I had to guess, opium was involved in us raiding that country, seems to me like heroin use has grown exponentially since about the same time we went to Afghanistan. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time our own government has trafficked drugs then dispensed them to communities, the cia did with crack.

Nope I don’t do anything on Facebook but marketplace and tell people happy bday. I overheard a couple laborers I hired to help me do my roof talking about Afghanistan a couple days ago. They were both former military and had been there, I guess that’s how it came up. I mean I drive a truck and it has a radio, I am a bit antisocial but I still do stop by to smoke with a few people that talk about the news or have it playing while I’m there. If it’s on (the news) I get sucked in as well but I don’t know why cause it gives me anxiety. So I just try to avoid watching it, I do google videos on financial news, or if hear that something is going on and want to know more about it. I’m not completely disconnected, but to me I seem much happier and relaxed than the people I know that concern themselves with national politics and news.

Careful about being sucked in through non political stuff too, but it seems like you have a good avoidance of the online radicalization that has been going on. Any social media though (like RIU, the videos that you are looking up too) is filled with the clickbait propaganda spam designed to impact people.

I really don't think I have really seen anybody saying we should stay there. Just we shouldn't shy away from the reality of the hell that we are putting millions of people through as we abandon the region.
