Cool man thx. Ya I learned that the hard way on my first grow. I was almost positive the more I watered the soil with nutes the bigger it would grow. I didn't even know what a ppm meter was I was just pourin in the Dutch master like it was goin out of style.any knowledge on any of those nutes I'm runnin ?

They're magnesium defficient and your yield will suffer Big Time! It's too late to get your yield back. You push your ppm way to high for dwc. I'm suprised they haven't burned.

I started adding Epsom salts last night and I've been using calmag for over half of my plants flowering cycle so far. That shits crazy. Now that I think about tibia didn't really have any problems with my leaves untill I started using cal mag . What do u run you ppm's at ? From everything I've read about afghani and from first hand advice from the guy I got these from I def didn't think 1000 ppm was too high for hydro. Thx for responding

first off as far as the magnesium is concern I wouldn't use Cal Mag if I didn't have to. In the event the calcium or magnesium deficiency shows up my preferred method of remedy would be calcium nitrate or magnesium sulfate and it would be as a foliar spray.and as far as my PPM's when I run DWC I like to use an automatic top off float valve switch. And I also like to use advanced nutrients pH perfect top of with half strength. but if you're not using advanced nutrients then your PPM's will be more accurate to what the meter reads soul for a brand like Dutch masters I wouldn't go any higher than 1000 w/ additives and that would be in mid- late flower. From my understanding Afghans can handle higher PPM's later on in flower.

also the reason plants in deep water culture get so huge is because the roots are always in the nutrient solution so common sense would say that there's a higher chance of nutrient burn so running a little bit less is preferred. and you don't have to dump copious gallons of nutrient solution because you got too much fertz it's always easier to add more fertilizer.

(These #s are total for all 3 gal) I used Gh micro(20ml) and bloom (40ml)Lucas formula ..snowstorm ultra(6ml) , crystal burst (6ml), floralicious plus(6drops) , and hygrozyme (20ml) and 3 tsp Epsom salts. Couldn't get anyone to respond earlier so I just went with my gut and I spent all day reading on here to see what other people did. Hopefully it'll look good tomorrow. Lookin foreword to seeing some comments good or bad. Let me know guys . Thx again. Here's some pics from a little bit ago.[/QUOTE]

i don't use ditch master at all , didn't like it. It was used in a grow awhile back bc I was hurtin for money and it was cheap. My boy keeps his ppm's at 1300 after week 3 of flower and he's ran this exact strain for goin on ten yrs now. I know my conditions aren't exactly the same as his bc he has several plants and a few thousand watts. I have two plants and 400w and I know the more light the more they can uptake most of the time but its really only been over 1k ppms once and that was a few weeks ago and after a couple of days of seeing if the plants could take 1300 I love red it back down into the 900s just to be safe. I'm at 1k now which for the 5th week for a pure afghan landrace strain shouldn't be too much. I think I will drop her down to 850 or so tonite. Hopefully someone can tell me if they've had experience with any of the above nutrients listed and point me in the right direction. Thx for the help

So here's a pic from about an hr ago , ill have to say I was super fuckin skeptical of the snowstorm ultra and the crystal burst actually doing shit but wow. I swear they have double the frost and that's just from 24hrs. They also look healthier to me so maybe this shit will turn out after all.

I used the GH micro/bloom ..snowstorm ultra /crystal burst / Ginormous all from humbolt co. own and Hygrozyme and floralicious plus. Everything was the first time I've ever used it except the floralicious and I didn't even have to adjust the ph it was spot on and still is 24hrs later. I'm pretty impressed so far. Time will tell tho. Comments and advice are greatly appreciated. Good or bad.thx and Stay smokin

So here's an updated pic from tonite. They're lookin so much better since I switched from botanicares cns17 1 part bloom to general hydros flora micro/bloom and my additives. They're technically 44 days in but I suspect they are a few weeks behind due to some cold spells and earlier issues with the grow.

The ph is at 5.8 and my res temps are at 69. The temp in my room is about 71 to 74 with the lights on and about 60 to 64 with the lights off depending on how cold it gets outside (external building) there is a heater in there but it only does so much. Hopefully since the res stays warm all the time the canopy temps won't kill me too bad. Anyway let me know what u think. The bud sites are actually starting to kinda fill out now with little false pods and im getting excited. Shouldn't be but maybe 3 or 4 weeks left. Thx for any input. Peace

Just a note here but sometime you just get a "weakling" plant or two, I have seen it numerous times from the same strain. It's why you want to selectively find the most vigorous, strongest plants and keep them. Cull the weak.

Ya I'm actually growing two from clones and my other one looks a lot smaller than this one but for the size space I have I'm not too disappointed , and the clones were a gift.
