Giving this grow thing a first time go..

we have two strains, OG and Alien, being grown in three different indoor tents. the plants were given to me as rooted clones about seven weeks ago and are in their first 10 days of flower now. all of them are in soil that's a mix of black gold, fox farms ocean blend, and vermiculte/perlite, no nutes added except fish emulsion for the veg stage.

first tent is a 5x5 with a Black Dog phytomax-2 600w LED, four beautiful ladies in here:

the second tent is a 4x8 that is actually two smaller tents cut and taped together, it ain't broke so we ain't fixin it. this one has five plants and two 315w CMH's. i just put the ScrOG net on today and absolutely love what it did for the canopy level. made everything look so clean and awesome, i definitely just sat in my zen state after it was on just taking in what a fun ride this is.

the last tent is a 4x4 with a black dog phytomax-2 400w LED, and these babies are lookin awesome as well

that's all the pics i can post at one time so i guess i'm done for now, even though i have a lot more i wanna post lol

this post is open for anyone and everyone, let's all help eachother learn a bit and have some fun while we're at it. like i said it's my first time grow, so i'm very much still learning with ya'll. starting this garden and having it to look forward to has been an awesome experience, i can't imagine ever not growing again. i'm currently looking into how to insulate my garage/pole barn, run electric etc, and do it proper out there, but this will do for now. i'm also excited to see the differences in yield and quality between the CMH tent and the two different wattages of LED's. cheers to anyone following along, big love :peace::joint::grin:

Lookin healthy!

I'm sure they're going to come out good if you keep lovin em the same way you have been so far, but even if they're just better than average, you'll swear yours is the best fuckin weed ever. No one better say otherwise damn it!!!! Hahaha!!

But for real, looks healthy.

they are so easy to love! and of course my first grow will result in the dankest weed that's ever been known to mankind.....according to me of course hahaha! i find i have a much happier time when they are healthy so i try to keep them that way lol.

now i just have to decide whether to scrog, stake, or leave the other two tents unchecked from here on out. i have half a mind to bamboo stake one room, leave one room untrained from here on out, and leave one with the scrog just to see what's best. in reality i'll probably scrog them all cause it seems superior, but these are the ideas i toy with on a daily basis. thanks for checkin in holmes, much more fun with others involved!

A trellis net across the top to spread it out evenly and support the weight later on in flower is much more convenient than bamboo stakes, IMHO. Proper SCROG means weaving through or tying down to the trellis net.

would it be too late to put a trellis net up and scrog them even though they are 20 days into flower? or at this point is it better just to let them be, maybe do some light staking to space things out? if i go the staking route i will likely end up tying the heavier nugs to the top of the tents with string. thanks for any ideas

everything is looking awesome, just have one little concern, which is some plants are showing light (as of now) signs of nutrient burn. i added nutrients at 1/4 strength but i'm thinking the soil is still just too jam packed with nutes for me to add anything yet. gonna dial it back down to simply pH filtered water for the time being until some of that soil is depleted (soil is a mix of fox farms ocean forrest and black gold, mixed with a vermiculite/perilote at about 60/40 ratio)

Your a first time grower huh Why am I not believing that lol.

great job either way bro!!

this is the funniest and best compliment, my wife needed to hear this so bad lollll!!! she was gettin all irritated cause i kept buying tents, lights, etc and spending all this money and i kept saying babe just believe me, i have a vision!! and to be fair i was very haphapzard about my purchasing but also knew that if you want to grow the best you gotta set it up right. so thanks so much, that made my day!

I wouldnt try to scrog them at this point. I would use a trellis net just to spread them out a bit, not putting much stress on the branches. It will help to keep the branches upright when they start packing on weight.

thanks tracker, the method you suggested makes sense so i went ahead and did it. just a light trellis over the top to hold colas in place as they grow was my thinking here, hopefully that looks about right? i'm also gonna go in when the lights flip back on and skirt some of that bottom lower growth that will just turn into larf

and then here is the CMH tent after i pushed the netting down and pulled a few buds upward. this one will need skirted some as well when lights come back on

anyone have ideas on what the issue with this plant is?? i have some ideas but would rather see what more experienced growers think before i move forwardCF32B3BE-9E25-4C71-ACDC-A3678A494385.jpegD0DF48C1-493C-4F87-91BD-83517FFFD83F.jpeg

What are grow media, nutrients, feed/water sched, ppm/ec, pH? What are the temps and humidity like? Have you applied any sprays? I assume this one is outdoor?

More info is better.

they were transplanted into soil that's a mix of ffof and black gold, mixed with vermiculite and perilite about a week before flower. they are now into week four of flower so i figured i could start adding nutrients, which i did a few days back at 1/4 to 1/2 ish strength. the pH is always around 6.35, and this plant is being grown indoors under an LED light, i just pulled it outside to get better pictures. the temp stays around 70 with about 70% humidity as well. thank you for any help, i do believe it's nutrient burn and have been flushing but just wanted to make sure it's not some other obvious issue that i am overlooking. thanks for any help i really do appreciate

I feel like that purpling around the edges is either caused by the low temps or phosphorus deficiency. 70 is too low for LEDs, bump it up closer to 80 and you'll see better results. How cold do they get at night? Another question-did you get the burned tips long ago or more recently? Considering the yellowing leaves towards the bottom, I'm thinking they might just need more food-LEDs really make plants suck up the food in early flower. I'd lower the RH to 55% now that buds are forming. Good luck!

i think the phosphorous is most likely the issue because its day 30 since flower and i havent added nutrients, the reason being i thought i nute burned them after adding a 1/2 strength solution ten or so days ago, so dialed it back to zero since then. they get down to around 60 degrees at night so i dont think it's that yet but thank you so much for the reply and advice. i really appreciate you guys taking the time to help offer some guidance. i watered them today with a half strength dose of nutes and calmag, so we'll see what happens from here. thanks again. also, not all plants were affected, only 4 out of 12 were stressed in this way.

gave everyone a solid dose of half strength build a soil bloom boost mixed with half strength calmag. hoping that evens out the weird lime green coloring, yellowing of leaves, purple discoloration, and what seems to be stunted growth. it makes the most sense it would be that since its been four weeks since transplanting into ffof, and even though the symptoms are giving me mixed signals i think that's the most likely culprit.
