After watering, leaves are drooping. did not overwater.

I'm using a 5 gallon bucket. Believe I've just rebounded from overwatering. It's irrigating, question is how well. I watered today first time after 5 days. The soil was dry to the touch to crumble away. I have about 20 holes in the bottom of the five gallon bucket. I put one liter, it seems like I have over watered again obviously I have not. What could be my issue? The leaves are pointed down, as I didn't over water. I have a little bit of copper and burnt tips. From Lost water. But I need to increase some 1 L of water obviously that can't be enough. What could be my issue? Open me to ideas

What medium are you using?

If you use a medium with good aeration, it's impossible to over-water. (think DWC where the roots are submerged for example)

Straight coco has ample air even when fully saturated

The number of holes in the bucket is largely irrelevant, the medium either drains well or it doesn't.

I use 1 gallon daily with my 5 gallon fabric pots with little to no runoff. I'm betting the soil is hydrophobic as it sounds greatly under watered. Try adding a surfactant like Yucca root to the water or even in a pinch, a drop or two of plain Dawn dishwashing soap. It helps the soil absorb the water instead of it running right through it. Water slowly and once you get some runoff wait awhile and come back to water again slowly until a decent runoff. That should help fix the hydrophobic soil and then going forward try to keep it moist and not let it get so dry.

Most of the roots sucking up water are nearer the bottom of the pot so you are underwatering a bunch and the plants aren't getting enough water and drooping.

Overwatering doesn't mean you gave them too much water once. It means you are constantly giving them too much water and over time that causes problems.

Soak the pot until it can't take any more then allow the pot to dry down enough the pots start feeling light then soak them again. Repeat as needed.

What size are these plants in 5gal pots, even when i water a soilless medium the leaves will curve down just a little bit while they drinking it up and they bounce back nice and perky within an hour.

I be leave this is it. It's not 20%if plant is not of growth. So that is mislead, I think I have temp issue not allowing for drying of soil.. Thanks. PPP

I figured out was going on with that plan. It was route bound because it couldn't get through the medium below half about 2.5 gallons into top medium. Plant was fine when trying to get bottom half at root bound. I was lucky enough to see it through the bucket. However plant was dead. Now but I need to have better bottom medium thank you for your help guys
