AHHHH! Just found out my bud is seeded 7weeks in... What should I do?

Well the good news is I have a VERY sucessful grow! I thought I ordered female seeds but 8/14 were male. I wasnt looking for males so I was a little late on plucking them (Maybe one week after 12/12 MAX!) So I thought I was fine and was going to get seedless bud then I trim one today and find out there are seeds in them, upon further inspection some of my main colas have seeds too... I guess the best thing to do is ride it out and collect viable seeds (Northern Lights 5) but most of the seeds i plucked were green and not brown. Do I just keep the plant flowering longer until the seeds emerge themselves? Will that make the bud less potent. The bud is still smokable so I am still happy but I would like it as potent as possible.

What to do what to do..!

So does that qualify as a backcross?..possibly making your nl a more stable version in the new seed? Since you started from seed, and had males of the same variety that pollinated the females I'm pretty sure that is a backcross and could be seen as a good thing (for the future). you could have more stable genetics, but probably need a breeders opinion on that- high times just had a breeders issue out with a lot of info you could probably use. You do however need mature seeds tho, green beans won't do. If you squeeze lightly between fingers and they pop-that's a no go(obviously lol). IMO the stripier the better, that might be a general rule idk. Let plant mature and monitor seeds closely, also can be measured by trichome maturity. Lastly if the seeds came out due to environmental stress or if yer "fem" seeds hermied then the beans can still be used but won't guarantee sinsemilla and hermit seeds are unstable genetically as I understand it.

i have the issue and I also have about 8 books on growing. I will be looking in there, I am checking for hermie right now so if I find one thats even worse news since now the seeds are shit.

brb ty for the replies.

Honestly I grew out herm seeds b4 and got lucky with no seeds at harvest, planted like 16 seeds, ended up picking best6 or so(maybe good picks idk?), crazy but they finished up great! but the clones I took from seed crop came out varied in bloom- some looked like the seed batch, some looked completely different, and some hermied. Looked that up afterwards and came across the unstable genetics theory. Apparently I'm real lucky the hermie seeds didn't produce hermie bud, but it's not unheard of. Feel your pain man... Some people hate, but I find it's still good smoke- so I smoke that shit up no problem lol!

Yeah, I am not mad really. I am kind of down though but it was a learning experience and all my plants grew great so I didnt do anything wrong it was just a lack of experience that hurt me. Now I know how to tell a male from a female so it should never happen again.

no hermie, so the news is good
How do you tell the difference between a hermie and good seed? I thought basically only seeds from a male plant could be planted and turn out female to obtain stable genetics. As I understand, seeds that come from a fully budded up plant(males bud too,but lightly right?) are hermaphrodite seeds. Is that wrong?

Males make pollen sacks which pollinate females which then make seeds. Males dont make seeds and they dont make bud.
The breeding of a hermie by using its pollen with another female is to assure your plants will either be female or hermie, but its not the best or most stable way to make feminised seeds.

Male plants do not produce seeds.

SolR To ripen up the seeds, select a few lower branches with seeded buds and leave on the living plant until they turn dark.

Thanks for the info... I'm a clone guy, with only minimal seed experience other than selecting new mother plants from seed batch. Just starting to understand the breeding process, and getting big ideas lol.

These are male flowers, cluster of little balls.
here is a pic from a plant not so far into flowering

here is one showing a male compared to a female. pistils are those little white hair looking things.
