Aiding seeds by cracking them?

I was germinating 5 seeds see and It has been 3 days already with ideal conditions and only 1 broke. Well as impatient as a rookie could be I ditch the tiny little ones and then proceeded to crack the big thick ones. But my question is can I plant the seeds I cracked open? I did not mess up the inside white stuff. they are back in a towel until I can find an answer. If I cant plant them no biggie ill just start some others

Cracking open before putting in water, soil, etc..?

That might be like cracking an egg to hatch a chicken... sounds like a bad idea

i did that on a few bagseeds i got and it sped up the process alot but i just cracked a small point at the tip where the root comes out no where else worked good, also cracked it and stuck it in papertowels, then soil just to clearify.

Im talking about Taking seeds out of a bag from a papertowel after 3 and a half days. 1 broke through and then the rest didnt. Let me take pictures.

Well I wouldn't advise cracking but if it works then sure plant them. By work I mean the root tip should be alive and growing. Until you see that root tip you shouldn't plant.

Sounds like the seeds weren't actually in ideal conditions or you just had bad luck.

ok, if you have a tough shell that you think will give issues germing, do this.. read about it i think in cannabisculture magazine.. take a matchbox.. line the inside with some med grit sandpaper.. put in your seeds.. now shake them for a bit.. open the box and remove the seeds that should be all scuffed up now. if they are not, just shake em a bit longer. this will make the water easier to penetrate while not compromising the integrity of the seed shell.. a cracked seed is crap.. hope this info helps :)
