Air Cooling a 600w HPS

Hey guys, I bought a 600w Lumatek digital ballast and bulb for my larger setup that I used on my last grow... but I'm scaling down to a hydrohut 2x4 (or darkroom DL150 Wide). My last space was just a bit too big for me.

On the last grow a little inline booster-fan was enough, but I know with a smaller space (and one hell of a bulb upgrade) I will need a better, stronger fan to really cool it down well. The fixture is a CoolBreze 6" so the single-walled constuction means I need a REALLY good flow of air to keep it cool.

Any suggestions? Squirl Cage Blower or Centrifugal? I'm at a loss of how many CFM I need and whats more energy efficient.

Oh and I was thinking of going back to 400w but using two in a 48" cooltube. Would that be better? Its more money to spend (shit ton more) but I'm trying to make a setup to last me for a couple years at least.

Thanks guys!

Whats up bro nice ballast!!!

In that 2x4 space i would go with the 400w light cause of the heat issues. It a hole lot easyer to cool that 400 than the 600. Ive a 600w in a 4x4x7 homebox and i keep my temp at 75-80 with the ac on 24/7. I also have a 6" vortex fan 450 cfm runnig a full speed 24/7. I woould go with the vortex fan any day, u cant go wroug with vertex.

Thanks man! But I have decided that with new 400w HPS ballast, all the air cooling and vibration dampening I would have to do to keep it quiet, I could go with a Procyon LED and use my T5 HO supplemental lamps to give a truely complete spectrum. LED is incomplete at the moment, the TI SmartLamp being the best and far too expensive, but with supplemental T5 HO the Procyon will work very well... talked with the guy testing them online, he agrees.
