Air Intake Filter

I need to get a fresh air intake filter on my fan that’s bringing cold air into my grow room.

Just realized that could be my cause of PM potentially, and want to eliminate that possibility.

Is it the same as a carbon filter, or like the “phresh” air filters.

I have a 6 inch inline fan.

Or should
i be looking for a Hepa filter ?

Then will it be going right on the fan?

My set up is like...

window—Venting——>Fan——>Vent——-grow room

Where would filter go ?

It comes oiled and bagged. When dirt tries to get thru the oil catches it. So when it looks dirty clean it. A couple times a year works for me but it depends on dust levels and how much it runs.

What's up with the "sock" that goes over the filter itself? Y'all use these? I recently added a 4" can filter into my flower cab. I pull air up through my veg cab, and am mainly concerned about dust sticking to my buds. Should I use the sock or will the filter by itself take care of any dust?

Sorry for stepping on your thread @trapdevil

The socks catch a lot of dust and crap - and are cleanable - but most important, all that dust and particulate caught by the sock are not clogging the filter. The socks do not catch everything. I run a stand-alone fan/filter scrubber 24/7 because I'm anal about dust and debris.

Ah,I see. I guess I should have put the filter down in the veg cabinet. Right now, I'm pulling air up through my filter into my flower cab(my flowering cab sits on top of my veg cab), so the sock wouldnt do much good. I'll move it next run. Thanks for the tip

I always worry about filters letting stuff around the edges. Thats why I like the dust shroom. Plus they are weather proof.

Weatherproof as they could be outside?

Do they work if air is pushing out not sucking?
Might get another and have it on end of a duct that blows airs not pulls, assume it would work
