that should do u just fine in a 55 gallon .......the stone will last years the bubbles it makes are tiny so i works better ....the pump is strong enough to cover any need u have the water could get to abut 74 and u will still be ok
My setup.
A 55 gallon drum with a Active aqua 15 lpm 15 watt 4 outlet air pump with 2 inch air stones down in the drum. The control bucket for the ebb and flow is in front of the drum.
I have a larger 8 outlet 50 watt air pump for bubble buckets, but am not bubble bucketing now.
I could use it this summer, won't be dwc'ing 'till it cools off(fall).
Went ahead and added the piston air pump and 3 more air stones. It does make a LOT more noise, sitting on that lid is like sitting on a drum.
Haven't decided???

Decision.
I am using the smaller Active aqua 4 outlet pump.
It makes for a lot less heat and noise, plus with only 20 gallons in the rez, only running 4 pots right now, the active aqua is enough.

I suspended mine from the ceiling with a bungee and no more noise. The pump gets HOT running 24.7 though. So I put it on a timer so it runs 3mins and off for 18mins
