the idea behind them is very interesting and i don't doubt they work well. i just don't know how practical they are for an indoor grow. watering seems like it would be messy. i suppose one could just place the air pot inside a bucket while they water but it's still more work especially with multiple plants. seeing evergreens being grown in pots is enough for me to believe they work, though. those are some pretty big claims about farmers cutting grow times in half
It is a little messy the first couple of waterings. Obviously... water goes down
for the most part. Some water
does leak out of the top holes. After a few waterings, the holes get clogged with a perlite chunk, or large bit of whatever is in the soil mix. You might have to do the Dutch boy thang with your finger in a dyke... but its not as bad as some people imagine it being.
I dont know about growing twice as much plant, faster and whatnot.. Maybe with some other plant. It aint working that way for me with 2 different strains of weed, passion flower, wrapper leaf tobacco, ghost peppers, and kenaf. YMMV
I love them and wont use any other type of pot, period.
I even tried making "smart pots" [I happen to have a serger] they sucked ass on all the regular garden plants I tried growing in them.
