Airstone for AG 7?

I just bought an Aerogarden 7 to start new plants and I'm waiting for it to come. I used an AG before and back then you needed a small airstone and pump. I wondered if the newer 7 had air built in or if you still need to add it. Thanks!

Have to add 1. The new Aerogarden Ultra MIGHT have 1. But I just got an Aerogarden Extra about 5 months ago and I had to add 1.

Illegal: the name Aerogarden is a misnomer. It incorrectly infers aeroponics. The A/G is an active hydroponics growing system by virtue of the nutes pump in the reservoir but their false claim to fame is the amount of air it gets dropping out of the delivery nozzle in the planting deck while it falls the half inch or so to the little net pots. You can grow without an aquarium air pump and an air stone but you'll get a lot more vigorous growth with them. Also don't forget to use the one way check valve in the air line.

You can use the 5 gallon air pump from Walmart. They sell it for about $7 but I'd consider buying your air line and air stone from the 99 cents store if you have one nearby. I hope that helps. HSA
