AK-47 vs AK-48

Ak 47 is legendary stuff, you can find quirky plants if you grow the originals. Cherry phenotypes, some smell like someone took a shit in a muffler. Classic ak 47 is very hard to come by, I'm saddened by how the flavor of the week has edged it out of my usual cycle. I had a buddy who had it for years in his stable, we would trade each other before I even started growing, it's one of the varieties that convinced me it's worth growing your own. Reading this thread brings back so many memories, lol drchronics fucked me over once on like 200 bucks before I found hempdepot and Herbie's. I wonder how many seedbanks from yesteryear have survived.

Don't believe everything written by nirvana.

If you get way back to 10 years ago all those strains listed different pedigree.
Look at the bug book of buds.

It would seem nirvana are now using bulk seed supplier's instead of in-house breeding.

You can get AK-47 from almost any breeder now that works like the original.
Even seedstockers £10 for 5 seeds.

Don't believe everything from anyone involved in the cannabis seed industry. Breeders, seed banks, etc...

And there are lots of so called breeders just reselling bulk seeds and naming them whatever they want.

What crazy is this thread is 2 pages and 14 years old.. I'd say back in 2007 it was probably easier to get legit ak-47. Serious seeds had the best ak-47 but from what I hear it's might be a watered down version now, think they might have lost a parent plant. I grew ak-47 a few times, once like 6 years ago when supposedly serious ak wasn't as good. I still found excellent ak-47 phenos that reeked. I'd like to run a legit cut of ak-47 to see how it holds up to modern strains. Back in the early 2000s ak-47 flower was some potent headie bud.

Ya figured there also some nice ak-47 crosses around, I just not really interested in running them at the moment. Have you ran ak lately, or in the last year? When I ran ak I recall getting gassy cherry smells.

You guys should just buy some Serious AK-47 and grow them out-all of the Serious strains have been worked and improved continuously for all these years. Simon is an actual, professional breeder, not a FOTM pollen chucker. Serious is one of the only breeders that has stuck by their strains for decades-as someone who grew Serious AK-47 for my first indoor grow with named seeds in the late 90s, and then again in 2008 (same with Kali Mist), very little had changed during that time. Both were excellent groups of plants. Don't listen to BS rumors about "losing mothers." That was a rumor spread about half the major Dutch seedbanks in 99/2000 by a certain unscrupulous, self promoting Dutchman who was hawking his own brand intensively at the time. One other thing I love about Serious-buy a bunch of seeds from different breeders and compare them, and the Serious seeds will ALWAYS be the plumpest, juiciest looking seeds of the bunch-they actually grow their seeds to perfect ripeness.

The law did change at that time and some companies did lose parent stock.
But the major players would have double the parents.

It's kind of fun to go back and read some of the posts on IC Mag from back in the day to get some first hand history and background to some of the ugly rumors that are taken as fact by many and continue to be perpetuated. Neville and Shantibaba both have posted extensively over the years, especially in the years following their creation of Mr. Nice (which I think neither is involved with anymore.) At the time, they went full scorched earth against pretty much every seed bank and breeder in existence, and it's true, many of the Dutch banks were breeding from their stolen American genetics, which is ironic-I mean, how can you get mad if someone steals something from you that you already stole from someone else? Anyway, Serious got caught up in it even though Simon had created all of his strains on his own, with the exception of Bubblegum, which is a famous IBL line that he always stated was American in origin. Serious even bought the Magus Genetics lineup, when they could have just stolen the genetics like everyone else seems fine with. It just really makes you wonder, how much of an impact the Mr. Nice crew had on all the Dutch police raids at the time, considering their past involvement with CIA informants like Sam the Skunkman.

Only Scott/shanti is alive, nev and Howard are both dead. He's probably knocking 60 with all the projects he's running I don't doubt he let's others do his work. But he's involved, I recently spoke to him, about an auction lol.
