So On the last thread I mentioned you should clone them and you said you hadnt had much experience and asked for some pointers. So heres what I got to offer.
If you are going organically, I like jiffy pellets. But only jiffy pellets, the other brands have given me mold issues and all sorts of non-sense. take nice fat branches, branches with a couple internodes and chop before a bottom internode. Theres lots of ggole info and videos on youtube about cloning. Im prob not the best to explain the actual technique but I wanna offer my advice on best ways to do it.
If you cant find jiffys, Ive bult a little homemade DWC cloner and that gave me best results so far. Its a long Tupperware about 3" deep, a foot long with an air stone in it. Ohh and holes in the top but thats it! Something I did learn was if the top isnt airtight it becomes a problem.
I like to take my cutting with scissors at a 45 degree angle right after a fan leaf or node. Then I submerge it in Ph'd water and take another cut about 1" up. The point is to make sure there is no oxygen in the stem. I find better results with that. Then directly into the jiffy or cloner. If using jiffy pellets, I soak them in Ph'd water. Some people add a tiny amount of nutes to the water to help after they root, I dont always do so tough t doesnt hurt right? Typical rooting takes about a week, some strains take much longer to root than other. Sorry about the long message, hope that helps.
ps. Whyd you switch to another thread?
