Ive heard about hygrozyme.I think I'll get my ass to the hydro store 2day and grab some of that.Ive been changing the res every week so far just to be safe,but that was before I was keeping the temps down.What type of nutes do you use?Im still debating what to get.Ive only been using clonex right now for my clones but soon I will need some.I use fox farm nutes for soil.Thanks again!
About the algae: Is there any light exposed to the res even from a little hole? Algae cant grow unless the environment is perfect, temp, humidity, light all come in to play.Thanks iloveit! Very minimal light getting in,maybe around net pots but very slight.I try to keep them in tight. Im making a new lid painted white with the correct hole size for my 2" net pots.the 1st lid I made i had them too big and ended up putting tape around them so they wouldnt fall through,and I think thats letting in 2 much light.But regardless 6 of 7 clones have gotten roots or root bumps,so Im good with that.Im going to switch to a new rez(white) and lid with my hygrozyme,on the next res change.some pics from 2day.

I changed out my res yesterday.Added the hygrozyme at min. strength.clonex solution,ph'd to 6.0.Im good to go.Ive got a bath exhaust fan pulling cool air from the window blowing right on the res.,its working good for now.temps 65-68 in res.put some new clones in today.got home from work no wilting of any sort.Ive got alot of frothy bubbles in there,is that something that happens with the hygrozyme? some pics of this a.m.

Thats cool as long as it dosent bother anything.At first I thought it might of been from not rinsing the res enough,after cleaning it out with mild bleach water.I wasnt expecting it when I first opened the lid to the res yesterday
So how long can I go without changing the res with the hygrozyme in there now?Ive been changing weekly . Thanks for your help iloveit

I mixed the water up the other day to get the frothiness down and its gone now.Thanks for the reassurance that it wasnt a problem.Bro
On the first day of mixing your solution (nutes/additives) you do so at a certain amount of PPM in your case 1000PPM. Then the next day take the reading again if the PPM begins to fall to lets say 900PPM that means your plants are taking in more nutrients than you originally added. In this case you should refill the tank with new solution but add more nutrients but to the limit of the difference. I have ppm meter now and mine is around 1000 ppm.Ive been trying to find out what to be at with clones but everything Ive read varys from 6-800 to 1000-1500?? Im assuming the clonex is making it that high.How do you use ppm to determine what you need to do with your setup?If you dont mind me asking.Thanks again for the help iloveit!!
It makes complete sense.Thanks.Ive only got clones in there so far so there really not drinkin much with no roots.which makes sense that my ppm is the same.tonite it was 1030.so far I have roots or bumps on all clones.so somethings workin good.
