So got a experiment on soil going for this grow . I found an MG soil with no time release nutrients as for this is what gives MG soil a bad rap .
MG has a mix for Cactus and citrus . It has no time release nutes and is soft and spongy when wet . I have 1 Purple Flo in the MG and 1 Pineapple express in mg . And 1 of each in Happy Frog . The plant pictured above is Purple flo and it is growing in The MG cactus mix .
I keep posting details and pics. So far so good no notable differences but they have only been watered once and all are about ready for a drink we will see how this goes.

Very cool.

Do you mind if I pick your brain a little? Did you choose CFL for veg, HPS for flower on purpose? I'm currently growing under 400w of CFL just because it was cheaper to buy CFL when I started. But I just got a great deal on a 600w MH and HPS setup off of craigslist. So now I have a choice, (haven't installed it yet), continue with CFL until flowering, then switch or switch now. I've had pretty good results using CFL, I just think it would be easier dealing with a single light.

Thanks

I,d finish with that 600 man it will boost your yield . I,m vegging with cfls because I split my enclosure and my 250 is up top flowering the last run. I,m using the cfls until I can afford a t5 fixture to veg with.

Chugging right along , just about ready to make some more ties on the purple flo . Pineapple Express is about big enough to train also .
My Medibud clone had took a down fall when I brought it home , but seems to be recovered now .

Are you going to tie it around the edge of the pot in a circle? I saw a guide for that and wanna try it. How long would it take to veg?

To make the whole circle it would take awhile .a half circle took me 4 to 5 weeks of veg . I stop training in flowering . It just depends on the growth rate i suppose .

This girl is ready to train . I lost track of which ones are which except the big Purple Flo . I,ll be able to tell when they get bigger. Purple Flo retains its purple stripes on the stalk and has darker leaves . I'm happy with PF in flowering she seems to be a heavy producer and frosts up nice with lots of resin .

I'm getting ready to do some PM work . I'm using neem oil as it takes care of three different problems, and early veg seems to be the best time to apply it . Lasts grow problems was powdery mildew and fungus gnats . I have my soil treated with mosquito dunk to prevent fungus gnats and treating with neem oil will prevent powdery mildew . You can also use milk diluted in water to fight powdery mildew ,alternate milk one week ,neem oil the next . Sulfer sprays work great too , but in my experiance were the harshest . The sulfer is very light sensitive and leaves a heavy residue on the leaves .

I thought it would be informative to note everything I'm doing to prevent future problems , based on my 2 previous grows . Some people will suggest certain commercial products for bugs and such but they are usally expensive and hard to obtain . I'm doing budget grows as I'm unemployed and would like to show that this can be done with products from your home improvement store , you just have to know what to look for .95% of what they carry is what we don't want.

MG Soil Update:

I'm calcium defecient in the MG soil and not in HF . Now I did forget to add molasas for cal/mag as I have been watering these plants but it's interesting that HF isn't showing any defs. Only other difference I'd say so far is the calcium deficiency and it drains slow . If I use it again I'll use more pearlite . I'm going to foliar spray the deficent plant with molasass water mix to correct this and will be adding molasas to my water from now on .
