So I've got this 9 n half week Jack Herer by green house seeds.
I've checked trics and are around 30% amber and very little clear left.
The guide says 8 to 9 week plant.
It doesn't look that ready to me pistil wise but most of the catlayxs have swollen I think?
Any info/opinions welcome.

Thanks.

The white pistils still look plentiful, f you can wait until the triches are where you want them to be for your preference the pistils ( most of them) will have receded into the buds, the remaining will be amber. As for the amount of weeks posted on the package, that is a approximate period of time, not accurate.
Good luck

Hey, yeah I understand it's just an approximate why I haven't harvested yet lol.
Yeah how the trics are now is how I'd harvest but I think they might swell a tad more? Might wait till the wknd to harvest (5 days) and see how it looks.

Yeah some strains are ready before those hairs all turn. I used to grow an aurora pheno that was like that. Looks like you have spider mites though unless that's some kind of optical thing in the photos. Nice ass looking cola though. Congrats amigo

Hey, yeah it seems that is ready tric wise.
I'll leave it a few days and see if it changes much.
I don't think it's spider mites, it's yellowing...some sort of deficiency that's showed up last week.
I run a area51 led so might be the light n camera.

Yes, I agree to leave it a few days more. I'd go at least a week; you're almost there:)

I actually had a closer look at the plant and underside of leaves and you were right in a way.. I found a few Thrips.. like 2-3 of them that i could see.. Fucken things, plants almost done anyhow so they won't live long as they only feed on leaves not bud thank fuck.

I also have a Jack growing in the yard and it came a tumbling down a week ago and I have been drying in boxes. I thought it was early as well. It definitely could have gone another week but the smoke is still really good. Just to let you know. BTW the shots of buds look just like mine.

I hear ya man, I just have never seen thrip damage that far up a plant, they are lazy insects and usually only the bottom two sets of leaves are affected.
I suppose it very well could be thrips, an epidemic if it was...

Yeah, no idea what they are but i've harvested now.. 360 grams wet from 1 plant.
So probably just under 4 ounces dry.
Can mites or thrips fuck the bud after i've harvested?

never seen any bug at all on a drying plant, it's like fleas and ticks off a shot deer (so I've heard..)
as soon as the host is done/dead, the parasites are taking off.
