i would say wait till the pistols start to recede. they'll pull in when the trich's start to cloud which is the actual indicator. If you got a decent digital camera you can get the sharpest most zoomed in photo that you can then when in playback you can almost alway zoom in hundreds of times to magnify. used a DSLR if you have access to one. Anyhow you can get a rough idea of those trichs and how they look. Unless you don't give a shit then do your thang the plant is nice looking. couple ozer's on er.

Yeah no sweat, it's hard to wait for those early harvest. This last time I think I actually waited to long for two of the three strains. I wasn't impressed. I didn't get a loupe and it was a mistake
