hey guys, how much longer do you think these plants need?

theyve both been blooming for 8 weeks tonight, and im counting from preflower. the breeder suggests 9-10 weeks, but im getting really impatient. would it be silly to harvest the plant that looks more ripe sometime this week (2nd pic)?

thanks.

You've got at least two weeks left, but for properly mature plants, looks closer to about four weeks. If the breeder suggests 9-10 weeks, you can bet it's going to be at least eleven or twelve, possibly more. Patience is key towards the end of the cycle and also at harvest. A mature plant, properly harvested and cured will be your reward, but you REALLY need to have patience for the next few weeks, or even months, if you plan on a good cure. Those flowers are going to start fattening more and more, almost by the day. This is where a lot of growers mess up, cutting early because they look good, smell great, and they just want something to smoke. Now is not the time to jump the gun. Wait it out, looks like they'll be worth it.

well on top of me being impatient, theyre starting to smell up my house. wouldnt care if i didnt live with roommates.

i contacted a rep from the seed company, and they told me they rate the flowering times from the 12/12 flip, not from preflower, so im actually ahead like a week, no?

They arent ripe. You can cut them and smoke them and get high but they will weigh more and get you higher if you wait a few weeks.

weeks!? the hell? how does a 9 week strain turn into a 12 week strain? all the fan leaves are yellowing out hard now. i fed for the last time last night.

its diesel.. chemdawg x super skunk x northern lights

Any issue while flowering or even right before flower can delay the proccess. Your environment also factors in. Just like everyone doesnt get 400 grams per square meter not everyones plants finish at the same time.

They are your plants kill em and smoke em whenever you please dude. You asked a question and got an answer. Sorry you dont like the answer.

the one on the right looked pretty ripe with some yellow sugar leaves but if you cut the whole thing and it turns out shitty you cant let it go longer. try a sample if its good in a week the rest should be even better by then

ive had 0 issues with this run, besides the temps being ~90f at the canopy, and some downward clawed leaves from mild nute burn.

thank you for the suggestions. so i cant expect to harvest either next monday? will they smell more, or hopefully less with time?

Itll smell more. If you cut it today it would get you high and all that. Its just not at the ripeness id pluck it at. Do you have a scope to check trichomes? Sometimes plants will be ripe even when they are busting ew pistils. If the trichomes are milky in color youre good to go. I personally like to pluck when there are a few clear and mistly cloudy.

i do, but only a 10x. one pheno is mostly cloudy (second pic), but no amber yet.

ive taken a 6 and 7 week sample from the younger pheno (first pic), and wasnt all impressed. stayed high for a good amount of time, but i didnt peak where i wanted to.

Yeah second one looks more ripe. I dont go for amber as its degraded THC. Milky is when THC is in its most potent form.

Check the trichomes. You'll need a 60x. Some strains the pistils will never change until after it's chopped down. i

Still not that close and kind of blurry. At that zoom they all look the same. You can get them from radio shack for 10 bucks.

LMAO.. never trust what it says on the packet, only trust your judgement as to the plants performance and Yield, she will tell you when she is done, the packet is only but a guide to the genetics. :blsmoke:

will do. breeder suggests 65 days, and im counting from preflower. cant be much longer..can it?

short one is almost fully cloudy. began giving them filtered water tonight in hopes of finishing up.
