So im am on week 5 of flower. Currently day 35. I have an unknown strain that i got from a friend. The weed was really good and so is this plant, well at least its looking good. My only concern is the buds. Are they too developed to be only start of week 5?? Also, i have amber trichomes on most top sugar leaves. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

P.s the strain seems to be a hybrid with indica dominance.

Maybe those amber trichomes on sugar leaves that you're seeing, are clear ones picking-up false coloration from brown or orange pistils nearby. In other words, many people rely heavily on trichomes and see light bent or reflections through clear trichs giving them the appearance of amber ones. Being on sugar leaves they are closest to the pistils. I think it's one of the reasons new growers chop too early when they rely on trich coloration. Just something to consider.

They look good & frosty! Nice job. I'd wait though.

I initially thought the same thing. But its 100% no light reflection.

5 “ weeks “ of flower means nothing in time. Plant will finish as long as necessary- regardless of other peoples grows or breeder estimates. You have many immature pistils still and a little to much nitrogen. Buds look very good and nice frosty rails. But with anything good it takes time.

Cutting too early throws all that effort out of window.
Most strains can go 9-10 weeks.

I know, patience is a bitch. The truth of the matter is the plants are on their own schedule and they'll be done when they're done. Hang in there, you'll be glad you did. Nobody ever complains that they chopped too late. Too early and you'll be disappointed.
What if i do a partial harvest? Would that hurt the bby like a lot?
I am looking for a head high rather than a body couch lock.
