Am I crazy or do you think this will work?

So, I have this giant red bull cooler thing that you see at gas stations full of Red Bull. I figured it would be something worth growing pot in after examining it in my garage the other day.

I have a pc fan I can install in the side of it to keep ventilation going.

I could use a pot or just fill it up with soil. It has a drain so excess water could be able to just run out.

I'd just be trying to grow 1 plant so I was wondering if a 250 or 400w flourecent bulb would work. I could hang it above the plant. I was wondering, would it work if I just put cut open soda cans around the red bull thing? Or should I make a reflecter out of one and put it around the lightbulb, and how much light should I need for 1 or maybe 2 plants.

I read I could throw a bowl of water in there to keep up the humidity level too.

I might use the same concept on a giant rubbermaid bin in my closet. I saw a really stealth looking grow box with these that stacked on each other. I wish I could find the topic with that!

It all sounds like it might work. If you can get a hold of a 400w CFL then i would say go for it. If you had adequate ventilation you could probably run a 150watt HPS. I wouldnt worry about keeping the Humidity up. Its not really to important. Cool idea man anyway haha.

if u have the 150hps in there u are probly ganna need a little more ventilation than a pc fan. calculate the exact cubic foot of your area. in an area like that i would want to change the air once every minute or 2. so make sure the cubic feet per minute on the fan matches your area if not more. heat will be a big issue in that box cause its insulated so well.

I built a grow tub out of an old RC cola display like this one.I didnt even get to invloved either basically you add soil to this thing, spary paint the clear lid black to stop light.Added a 250 hps light secured to the inside top lid.I added a small homemade glass shilded reflector and vented the light with a small pc fan out the top and then a small pc fan in the side intaking fresh air in and around. Not the ideal setup but was fun.I was able to grow one bushy plant in it and got about 2-4 oz dry each time.

I'm totally kidding!
I just wanted to say that to someone else besides myself.:lol::lol:

It wasn't quite as satisfying as I thought it would be.:wall:;):p

hahaha the picture was crackin me up, hahahahahahahah... that dont sound like too bad of an idea tho id mos def try it... it should work with the two pc fans
