Thank you guys ... awesome replies .... this thread is as good as your comments .... and all are great .... if you are truthful.
Perhaps .... we can show this to the straight-heads ... one day .... just so they can understand us a bit better.

There is a fundamental difference and leading outcomes, if one gives a rare, loaded gun to a child or a collector of antiquities .... NO ?

The paranoia thing .... well .... been puffing for some 25 years now, and every time I think I can totally control it .... I just find a stronger strand ! LOL (with reference to THC consumption alone)
No disrespect to you poplars .... as I grasp your perspective. I have mastered the anxiety (unease brought forth) aspect tho !
In totally controlling it (paranoia) do you mean ... being aware of it and turning it off, as to subside this ill effect ? Or have you found a way of not even feeling it ?? I ask as, all I want is to learn ?

I've found a way to totally stop it. it's essentially /knowing/ there is no reason to feel this way.

focus on stuff that doesn't bother you when it happens, avert your mind to something else and you'll feel better.

maybe you'll still feel tense but that'll fade after a few minutes of focus.

I mean I've /never/ been truly paranoid bro. ever. I've had thoughts that could have lead to paranoia, but I stopped them in their tracks. every time.

I used to get paranoid a lot, but slowly realized there was no reason for it, so it became easy to shrug it off as a figment of my high-imagination. I think being aware of your thoughts and where they're coming from gives you the power. It just takes a little practice at first.

very cool thread. I'm a young chap myself and still live in the town I grew up in, so I see old friends everywhere. Back in highschool we just got fucked up. Now looking back on it, we all had problems in our lives and were just getting high or tripping on pills to escape. Although I was still the most productive stoner at school, I never skipped class (except PE), passed all my classes, was in honors classes, had TWO jobs throughout highschool, I smoked ALL the time. Now imagine if I had control over my smoking how much more productive I could've been. Maybe validvictorian. LOL jk. I can't even spell it.

But its all about what I learned. I see my old friends in their 20's working at walmart fulltime. Living in a shithole. Basically no pleasurable future. And I even see my friends younger brothers. Who are no different. They're eyes are glazed over like their soul's are empty. They don't really see what's so special about herb, just that it gets them high. And their high is like 'fucked up'. I wish I could teach them myself what I had learned, but its practically impossible. They have to go through it too and see things how they truly are as I had. My high is no longer 'fucked up' but just crazy contemplative and I just want to get into things. Now if I'm with a few people and we all passing the blunts of kush now that's when I'll be 'fucked up'.
But theres a time for fucked up high and just contemplative high. I could go into more but I am STARVING...

and if they don't yet, they may get the right idea from the posts in this thread.

Thank you poplars for wise words and personal insight ... That was my intention in staring this thread as well !
Your comments are wicked ... definitely something to think about !
Perhaps for all of the zombies who might find this in the future.
In essence we are all opening their eyes and our own as well in this discussion .... and that is a good thing !

Hats off to you all !

LOL at losing personality.

that's the most idiotic idea I've ever heard. if anything, cannabis has brought my natural personality out MORE.
I gotta go along with this statement. I've been tokin since 1969 & it hasn't affected my personality in the least. Of course, starting to 'partake' at age 15 & being almost 56 yrs old now, I guess I wouldn't be able to give a non-partial opinion on this subject.
I haven't a clue what kind of personality I'd have now, if never starting to toke. All I know is that it's never hindered my way of life. It might affect others differently, but I can only speak for myself.
