AmareTech SolarEclipse350 experience??

Im currently laying the groundwork for a 4x4x8 space (just got 2 20amp outlets hooked up ready to go this morning!) and am considering using 2 of these (I think I've changed my mind 5 times a day, each day over the last week while trying to decide on which panel to go with).

I know a pHarmerXxLEDxX is currently running these along with some other panels, and hyroot has one as well. I'd love to hear how people are using this panel currently and their results prior to me deciding to go forward - Im probably a couple months away from pulling the trigger anyway so i have some time to let it simmer. Does anyone have any experience/comparisons or even opinions/thoughts that they'd like to chime in with?
Well for starters I definitely wouldn't try and stick two of the SE350's into a 4x4 space. That alone is a waist IMO as the SE-350 is designed to cover a 3x3 space by itself. What I would recommend doing is looking into the SolarSystem-600, it is comprised of four SolarSPEC-150's. The SolarSystem-600 is using 6w Epistar diodes & is designed to cover a 4x4 space using smaller wattage panels to combat the Inverse Square Law and hit the plants with multiple beam angles from the light bleed, simulating the suns movement throughout the day. The SolarSystem-600 is priced @$1395.00 for the standard Epistar model and $1795 for the CREE upgrade.

Now on the SolarSPEC line, the standard model is the Top Bin Epistar version to make the panels more affordable. Yet still makes it possible for you to achieve full genetic potential from the plants you place under the panel. As the Epistar will put out almost 90% of what you would get with the CREE upgrade. However if one were to grow commercially or rely on the lights to make money. Then the 15% more efficiency is worth the additional cost as that translates into yield, but for most applications the Epistar is a more affordable and economically feasible option.

The SolarEclipse line are the "High End" lights designed to use all CREE components and is made for people who want the absolute max performance they can get for the wattage used & don't care about the start up price. As the CREE components will offer you a better spectrum, slight increase in intensity and a increase in longevity. Though if you are still strapped for cash you can get the Eclipse line with Epistars instead of the CREE 5w XTE/XPE chips that surround the CXA2530 COB's.

From my own research I cant find a better company out there in terms of highest UMOL per watt used, dollar spent, & most effective spectrum used. YES, this includes Apache, Budmaster & BML!

I'm under the impression there are white, red, and maybe blue singles? Thought I read that a while back but could be wrong. I cant find any info on the product page. What makes you think they are all white?

Edit: ah looks like I was mistaken. Perhaps the other versions have monos? Looking at this pic they appear all white...

Nope not all white at all, they come with XTE/XPE 5w chips surrounding the CREE CXA2530 COB's. Here is another picture of my Eclipse350 and you can clearly see.

IMG_20150628_213849_717[1].jpg

I'm confused, I was comparing the amare to apache\area51\illumitex. at a grand a panel for a 300+ watts of leds that's their direct competition. GGs panel will prolly blow them all away for par/dollar cost, and it don't look like a prisass.
Can you link me to a thread or site featuring this "GG's Panel".

Hmmmmm...speaking of reds...i noticed Hyroots Amarehaha has reds, cools and warm whites in the monos....XPE's? Is that an option.....(i dont really care....but... ;) )
Yes they ALL come STOCK with XPE/XTE 5w chips as I had already brought to your attention on the other Amare pricing thread days ago. No option for only whites, only option you can have is to get them with Epistars IF you contact and ask for it due to being strapped for cash. To my knowledge though no one is running an Eclipse350 with Epistars.

remember at the time, the indulgent self promoter here, bless their heart, had only the Epistar equipped version early in the game, they cheaped out because the Cree's were too much :bongsmilie: :bongsmilie: ....are they still offereing that option?
Who is it you are referring too? As I just said above no one to my knowledge is running an Eclipse350 with Epistars. When Amare first came out over a year ago they were featuring panels using 6w and 3w Epistars, which is the SolarSPEC line. Sooo if this is what you are referring to, LOL, then yes that option is still around? hahaha

Maybe they should make clear on their webpage: 'SolarECLIPSE™ 350+UVB' that they are running reds and whites in the monos...as their diagram/picture is confusing. (eg: showz all whites)

So the XPE's are the reds? and XTE's are the whites?

They are also CXA2520's....not 2530s

I also like how they advertise '5w' as if they are running them at that wattage....old school... ;)

On their SolarSPEC™ SS.260 page they are 3w Top bin Epistar (as long as they are genuine Epistar...this isnt that bad) with Cree upgrade option
Hi Chronic!

Well I have been running the "stock" SS-260 for a little over a year now and it has not given me any issues. I run in a 5 x 5 tent and currently have one SS 260, One SS-150 and two 100 x 3W custom white LED's. My yields have been awesome. The quality and density of the meds are fantastic. Here is a link to my journal.

I know that AMARE is continually researching and improving their products. They have top notch customer service and a awesome 5 year warranty. LED technology has been and will continue to get better/ It is based on Haitz's Law.You can't get around that. I don't ascribe to the "latest and greatest crowd". I am more of a if it isn't broke no need to fix it. What is important is the quality of the medicine for my patients. I left the HID camp sometime time ago and have not looked back. You can always find ways to improve a product. You don't see people walking around with those big old cellular telephones that were first made now do you? Then you have the "pick it a part crowd "5 W"
Who runs there car engine at full throttle all the time. You don't do it because you will trade off on longevity of that motor for a shorter period of time of more horsepower and torque. I have used their lights for sometime now and so have many others. The facts are plain and simple THEY WORK, are a Quality product and are very cost competitive and to top it off have GREAT customer service with NO BS... Keep it Green

"The new all-aluminum SolarEclipse350UVB MSRP@$995."

from the pics it looks a standard powder coated steel case, is that really all aluminum ?
You guys can actually tell if a case's aluminum or steel under that paint? Damn, that's impressive! lol. But if this was apache or a51, it'll be legit, right?

SolarECLIPSE™ 350+UVB

- Cree XTEs, XPG's or XML's (probably not the later)

- Cree 4500K 95CRI (P2, P4 or Q2 bin) CXA series 2520's (couldnt even get the better 2530's)

-
remember at the time, the indulgent self promoter here, bless their heart, had only the Epistar equipped version early in the game, they cheaped out because the Cree's were too much :bongsmilie: :bongsmilie: ....are they still offereing that option?[/QUOTE]

The difference between a CREE and and Epistar's only about a buck a chip, so yeah, maybe they can't afford it so they went with the Epistar. lol Cheap bastards! The CREE was always an option, and the Epistar was just to make the panel more affordable.

When the Ameretech 1st came out, it was already outdated... jmo
Interesting, they were one of the first commercial panel to to adopt the cxa's and first cobber to use monochrome to tune the standard COB spectrum. There's no difference in the spectrum between CXA/B spectrum, just wattage with the B being a little more efficient. They chose the efficiency route by using lenses to increase the intensity vs. wattage. Plants has no preference on the amount of wattage applied, only the net ppfd @ canopy.

According to this vid, BML's Spyder1200 put's out a very unimpressive 1100umol@12" vs. the Eclipse with 1861umol@12" @ 3x the price. So much for efficiency, be it cost or performance. They also have a SolarSystem600 that will put out nearly 2x the par at 60w and $1200 less the Spyder1200. 3k for 600w light generating a wimpy 1100umol@12" is ridiculous.

wtf kind of an answer is that bitch?

the amaretech rep in their email claimed it was ALL Aluminum. That's why I asked, since you claim to have a few units what is the case ? is it really all aluminum ? I doubt it, which makes the rep a liar salesman that doen't know beans just like you.

Thx for the feedback. I greatly appreciate it!

Just for clarification, I'm only intending on utilizing a 4x4 space initially - that is a smaller footprint within an 8x4 space so I definitely have some room for expansion and the ability to take advantage of 2 or 3 fixtures I think.

I didn't think inquiring about this fixture would get so many people riled up tho. *hides*

Like I said, if it was apache or a51, there wouldn't be any issues. So the rep's a liar and so is Amare. Your assumption has no merit.

Impressive language, sir:) If your going to bash and BS, at least make it sound convincing.

Not impressed with CXA25**'s for around $3 a watt and a wasteful high CRI,GG's panel will be around 25% less expensive with CXB3070 top bins. GG's panel should blow this out of the water plus save you some good money.
How much does a case, power supply, drivers, power cord and manufacturing etc... cost.
Yeah and 6 months after it hits the market it will be obsolete... You don't think AMARE couldn't use the same chip or another company. This is always a never ending argument "my D**** is bigger and better than yours....
