Amber trichomes at 6 weeks flower??

Hi all,
Just looking for a bit of advice,
My plant is 6 weeks 4 days flowering, I've grown her out in the garden in a pot in just normal compost. She seemed to flower really quickly and after just 4 weeks she was full of bud. My problem is that she is only 6 weeks 5 days in flower and already covered in amber trichomes on the bud. I'll post pics, the buds just don't look fully done yet but they might be... Im just a summer newbie so don't have a clue if she could be or not? Thanks in advance to all you knowledgeable folks!! :P

I stupidly cut off one of her big main colas yesterday because of the trichome situation! I tried to get help on a previous post but no one replied so I chopped it, then immediately regretted it, so that's why I need advice cause I really don't know if I should be chopping or not :wall:
I'll post some pics minus the other cola

Well I wouldn’t worry about the chopped cola, it won’t be an issue, but it certainly has some swelling left to do, so I’d carry on as you were with the rest and let it finish off! I’m sure you’ll get a few more opinions here later, but don’t lose any sleep! Just dry and smoke the one you chopped and give the rest a few more weeks!

What about all the amber trichomes? There are loads of them on the buds, I've read that they start to degenerate after this point?

I see some amber trichs but looks like there are a lot of clear trichs too, and the plant hasn’t ripened at all. Some plants just show some ambers early for whatever reasons, stress/light etc, but I wouldn’t pay attention to them at this point unless the plant was close to finishing, just to make sure it wasn’t early. Don’t worry, let her swell and finish up, check the trichs again when she looks closer to finishing, I promise you it will only get better! You won’t end up with a hemp plant, just let her carry on!

That’s my opinion, though I can’t imagine anyone would advise you to chop it right now! Smoke what you chopped, let the rest grow!

Oki thanks for the advice, I'll try and leave alone for the next week then have a look, it was just the trichomes that were confusing me cause there's lots, but I'm still learning so I'll take your advice :-)

Haha don’t worry man, but if I were you, I wouldn’t worry about trichs until the overall plant looks ready, then check just to be sure you’re not early.

And we’re all learning, it’s all good! You’ll notice her start really swelling up from this point, and you’ll be glad you didn’t chop her fully!

Pics of a 40 day finisher please

Maybe you have a different criteria for what's considered ready?

I've never seen anything remotely close to finished in 40 days but I'd sure like to see one.

It's posible some quick finishers may have auto or "semi-auto" somewhere in their background.

It's also possible for pistils to turn if they're sprayed with mold or bug treatments.

Many of your trichomes are cloudy. Before you get out the saw and cut 'em down maybe snip a top or two and take a test ride.

Some plants seem to like being harvested in stages too. Something to keep in mind if doubtful about the finish.

Throw out your magnifier

Don't look at trichomes

Your plant is minimum 25 days possible over a month till done

Do not cut it down

Do not ruin your bud
