Taking shots with a sleeping medication is quite dangerous, thats how Jimmie went out and Ledger but he was also on oxcys. I appreciate all the advice iv gotten so far and i appreciate the speed with which people responded. LOL yea 4 sure! Sounds better than taking those bastards, but unfortunately i cant drink due to weekly UA's. Man its day 2 since that shit happened and im more sore than i was yesterday! My friend said i should file a lawsuit against the company that produces the meds. I thought about it for a minute, but then i realised i dont have the money for a decent lawyer and the company would probably have a legal dream team backing them up. I dunno what do you people think about suing for damages??

It would be difficult. It's listed in the side effects for that reason, next time you get a prescription do a couple of things:
Get on wikipedia (not the best source, but for this purpose, accurate enough)
Type in the prescription that you're supposed to take, read about it!
If you think it could be something that could be used/abused recreationally, hop onto erowid.org and under search type it in (you may need the chemical name, so in this case, instead of Ambien you may want to put in Zolpidem).
Reading about what you're taking, the side effects, and things to avoid will be your best friend.

I didn't bother to read this whole thing, but trazadone is a great sleep aid. They give it junkies in Rehab, so you will be fine. If you can get your hands on some Seroquil, do it. It's an Anti Phycotic, but it'll put you to sleep. Gives you the munchies though.

You could find a lawyer and tell him what happened, if he thinks you have a case he'll do it for a percentage of the settlement.
Yea iv heard good things about trazadone. Never heard of seroquil tho and im not to keen on anti psychotics. My bro was perscried some anti psychotics but he was only to take a Quarter of the pill for add or depresion hes not psycotic. Well i gave one to a guy i new in school who would take damn near any thing; needless to say he got FUCKED UP to the point where he said it wasnt enjoyable. So i think ill steer clear from that option.
I have an update as to what actually unfolded during the night in question. I just got back from my friends house down the street and he told me what happened.... Well this house is rented out by 4 different people all of them are good friends who iv known for a bit now. They were all drinking and were apparently having a bit of a get together/party so a bunch of people were witness the train wreck that unfolded, great! Soo i show up with a fourtie of some sort of malt bevradge and according to my friend i down it in about 4 minutes which is sorta fast for me. My other friend said i then started to rant and rave about a Chicken Eating contest and how i was looking for "The bones"... I then apparently started to talk about a dude who was selling Xbox 360's for 3 thousand dollars just because he would stick em in a mircowave. My friend said he tried to talk to me but said he couldnt under stand what i was trying to say and eventually he said he just had to walk away. i Then ventured in to my other friends room where according to him i broke his computer chair, tho there are conflicting stories saying another dude broke it because he was drunk as fuck and decided to throw it around. I then proceded to vomit all over his floor and all over my self. He then kicked me out of his room for obvious reasons. My other friend told me i should go home and change clothes but said i refused to! He and another of my friends then took me out side to chill on the patio/backyard area because they were sure i was going to puke again, and i did, and again and again according to them. They all said they have never seem me as fucked up as i was the night in question and believe me i have been intoxicated Beyond allll reason many a times with these guys. My friends thought i had taken some serious hallucinigens or something along those lines, they said at one point i was typing on a computer for a long time and there was nothing on the screen... I was just typing on a blank screen!! from what it sounds like i was messed up beyond all comprehension and i should either be in jail right now or a hospital. After that night i just cant believe this stuff is approved for human consumption.

i've been taking Ambien for years. if i don't abuse it it works fine. makes me feel hella drunk for 5 mins then i pass out.

WOW....... that some really fuked up ambien trip. i have taken 15mgs and i just felt fuked up in a good way, nothing like what you described. but it was sort of like a trip. you should really talk to your doctor about that. and if you drank any alcohol with it thats sure mess things up. maybe you should try lunesta like, fdd2blk said.

Let me ask you this, do you feel alright in the morning after taking your Ambien? I took it for a few months and I never got passed that morning "fog".
But the real problem I had was when I had taken it one night at 10:30 and my Wife (GF at the time) had to wake me about 3 hours later, She was in labor. I couldn't wake up enough to drive safely to the hospital. So we called an Ambulance. I'm still paying for it today. We recieved a bill for $3,847.62 Fucking American health care...
She was about 4 weeks pre-mature, I had plans on stopping the Ambien in another week or so, just incase whe went in to labor. Go figure.
Thought that was funny story.
Well I know what u mean by that "morning fog". It subsides pretty quickly for me though. Soo i just got back from my doctor and guess what, he gave me more Ambien!! But only he gave me a script for half the strength and he said this is not an uncommon side affect and that hes hearing more and more stories like mine.. He told me about one patient he had that was taking the stuff and he was gaining weight really fast. Turns out that when he took the drug he would raid his fridge and totally pig out, but he wouldnt remember any of it! LOL i thought that was pretty funny when i heard it.

if you are concerned, call that fuck and say "I don't want ambien" he will switch your meds, if he doesn't get a new doctor. simple. I had to take up to 2 10's a night just to get sleepy hated the shit too.. but I hope it works out for ya.
Yea man, thanks for the support! I told a good friend of mine and he called my doctor a "Straight up Pusher"! LOL i sorta believe him, as i saw "Astra Zenica" Pamphlets in the waiting room. It made me wonder how much commission is this guy making with each new script he writes out?? Although i have heard that my doc is one of the best in the whole area by other people....I mean he is pretty personable and he doesnt seem like a duche bag, and iv had some duche bag docs in the past. But seriously, i tell the guy i got Fucked up and seriously injured my self and he turns around and gives me a script for more of the stuff, what am i to think???

I'm thinkin, "Holy shit. I've slept walked before but not like that dude on RIU."
I understand why your Dr bumped down the dose, especially if he believes you won't sleep walk anymore and this is all that can make you sleep. If you tell your Dr that you are not comfortable' takin' ambien, and he's a good Dr, then he should give you something else.
I know a guy (very close friend) that refused to take ambien in any form. He told his doctor that and supposedly the Dr said "Yeah, I wouldn't wanna take the chance of taking 1 too many and then wake up injured." I believe that because the guy is my Dr, too. So now, my buddy gets a Rx for valium and one for Xanax. Granted, he is a high strung type and that can really go overboard on minutia, but he as directed to take xanax for sleep. So far, so good.

I was prescribed this stuff not long ago. It does work wonders to get me to sleep. However, there were 2 nights that apparently I did some really fucked up shit. I remember taking one... Apparently I took 2 more, and started playing guitar with "my band." I don't have a band... Apparently I was bitching at the drummer because he couldn't keep a beat. I was playing the same chord over, and over, and over again, in a downstroke. This went on for about an hour or so I guess. Then I went to the bathroom and put as many of my wifes hair ties in my hair as I could, which apparently is 9. I fell down the stairs, and started talking to her about my band. I dunno...... Crazy shit....
