Ambitious

Short question-

How many ounces / grams can I expect per plant on average (outdoor / planted June 1 from clone)

Long description-

First time grower here with an ambitious start. I got seeds for 7 outdoor plants from a shop in TO, grew em, sex'd em, cloned em, and planted about 250 plants outside during the last 2 weeks. I’ve left time release fertilizer with every plant as well as fencing (for woodland pests) around about half. I will supplement the natural water supply (rain) with additional watering if and only if needed. I plan to check the plants only every 2 weeks or so until harvest (provided we receive the appropriate amount of rainfall). The seedbanks who supplied my seeds claim a half pound per plant on one variety, while the other 6 boast the outrageous claim of a pound per plant. I am curious, what kind of yield can I actually expect?

You're basically getting about a month of veg time, right? So maybe try to find some indoor grow logs of your strains? Look at the ones that went four or five weeks before making the switch and see what they yielded.

That being said, I'd consider myself very blessed to pull two ounces off a plant that size. I'd estimate around 35-40 grams, but that is in fertile soil with ample space. How did you prepare your holes?

I'd never have the balls (or the location) to do something of this scale. It would scare the piss out of me. On the other hand, it would be nice to have fifty eat by animals and shrug it off. Good luck man.

Oh yeah, and what strains are you growing?

TNR, Guerilla's Gusto, G13 (who really knows what this one is though, looks sativa to me), Shaman, Durban Poison, Himalayan Gold and Great White Shark.

So only about an ounce per plant huh? If I'm lucky :/ Doesn't really seem worth it, i've sunk almost 6 grand into the project so far.

I don't know dude. I've never planted this late, and you have a shorter season.

And actually I read it as July 1, not June 1st. So you can probably disregard what I said. I'd like to know how you prepared your holes.

If your in Toronto your light doesn't go to 14/10 till mid August you still have plenty of time to Veg. And even if you do wind up getting an ounce a plant, which Im sure youll get more. Thats 15 and a half pounds, and if your selling it you could easily make 30 grand selling it pound by pound. Walking away with 24 grand is more then I make in a year with my job.

Thanks dude, its been backbraking work, the encouragement is appreciated.

As far as the holes, i will say three things:
1.) I Have been keeping a log, and tons of pics, and i hope to post a great read around december. but until its done, i dont really want to go into it to much.

2.) Your question is simple enough, i used a large fence hole digger. this only distrubed the dirt enough where the actual hole is and i filled it with about 9 litres of soil. I know its not perfect, but we aree talking about 150 plants (others planted other ways) frist grow experimenting and all.

3.) Black Gold brings diggers, great indoors, avoid doutdoors.
:peace:

What's nine liters, like two gallons? I'd say my initial estimate should still be close.

Yes, I'd say that experience, root space, and soil composition -- along with veg time determines the size of the plant. Genetics play a role, of course.

I don't know dude, you asked what people thought, and that's my estimation. It's late in the season, and you're spreading out your limited experience over two hundred and something plants. You haven't really answered the question about what your soil blend is, and your holes are 9 liters, which is not closer to three gallons than two.

On my first grow I had a hard time getting a couple ounces per plant and I was only looking after three or four. I'd be real happy harvesting 40g a plant if I was you.
