We, if smart, will not re elect the one who can not get congress to do shit and go with an insider to get the lending market going again. Dont get me wrong, I respect the President, but party is over. He had his chance the first two years he was in office and had a democratic controled congress and senate but he had his own agenda. He tried, he failed, now it is time for a leader that will have the house support. Sorry that is the answer but if he is re elected nothing will change, only get worse, the next four years and I dont think we can take it.

JPL is an entity of NASA, but is managed by Caltech and has its own employees, etc. Its kinda like a franchised R&D thing for NASA.

More than franchised ... funded. It is a wholly-owned and operated branch of the Federal government, and that distinguishes it from "companies", the shorthand for private corporations. Franchises are an intermediate form like dealerships or McD's locations ... the franchise holder stakes the risk capital and runs the franchise as an autonomous entity. JPL doesn't fit that model. cn
