Indeed. To actually be a part of the solution, one must get up out of the comfy chair and get involved. I'm learning how to do that as I go along and it turns out there are reasons why things are as they are and that changing them will be difficult. That should come as no surprise. What surprises me is the number of people who think change should be as easy as a few tweets.
