Hey Pablo, can I ask what breeder you chose for your amnesia haze? been trying to figure out who has the best genetics... also, that's the first time I've ever seen purple ammi! Interesting ... how was it??

Yours looks more like Amnesia (Super Strains, formerly known as Hy-Pro Seeds, the original, takes ~9 weeks), and his looks more like Amnesia Haze (Soma's, ~12 weeks). Everything else is a remix.
Thanks, I had to look that one up. I'm at week 8 abouts and was thinking two more weeks, or hoping two more weeks... did not want this to go 12 (or more) this summer. Winter, wouldn't mind so much. Looks like Somas has more of the Indica in the strain? Shorter stacked plant has me thinking that, As Sativa dominant plants usually stretch tall,

Any idea what the ppfd is that’s hitting the canopy? If your pumping max light levels right into the end of flower they can (strain dependent) foxtail and keep stacking new growth on top of the already mature bud.. took me a few cycles to get that sorted, ended up just backing the lights and temps off in the last couple of weeks to let them finish gracefully.
You could use the phototone app to see how much light they are getting.

Looking good by the way, proper colas. I bet it smells nice in there too. Unfortunately the main dutch grow forum is gone, but for about a decade Amnesia was the nr1 strain. Hundreds of Amnesia and Amnesia Haze grows. Top of the list in shop's menu too until indicas made a comeback. Virtually everyone was growing it, from clones. Every street with a shop smelled like Amnesia. Now it's the other way around, everyone into gelato and that sort of thing and amnesia is the lowbudget stuff. I really feel stupid not keeping clones of Amnesia, they were so widely available, usually with mites though. Speaking of insects, your fan leaves show trails.

Amnesia was a clone from the south in NL, back then it was haze x Enemy of the State. Nowadays they say Neville's Haze x 'an Afghan' but:
"the mother of the legendary Amnesia".

It was a bit confusing when Soma, a legend himself, released (or perhaps already had, I don't know the exact time frame) an Amnesia too, cause Amnesia is hazy enough to pass as 'Amnesia Haze'. They're not related. But no his doesn't have more indica, and they can get quite tall and stretchy (so can original Amnesia) and foxtaily like the OP. Which isn't great for the grower but for the costumer buying bud, well, you get mostly bud and very little leaf/stems in it. Check out pics of the two Amnesias (Soma vs Super strains) at the link above.

That would make sense, maybe even a bit more than two. The 9 weeks flowering, more like 8+ to 10, was from clones, which tend to flip a little faster.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. The site I got them off hinted that they might be Somas but I kinda knew better. They did mention the Amsterdam thing in the description (I think they did) so everything your saying is right on point.

The mites .. yeah, I'll have to get some ladybugs in there sooner than later. I can't see them for shit, my eyes are really bad. I don't want to spray anything on them at this point of flower.

Thanks for the links! Got me some reading to do. :)

OMG...lol, wow, I looked up Amnesia vs Amnesia Haze... And am not surprised by the description...

"Amnesia is a sativa dominant strain with Skunk ,Cinderella 99, and Jack herer as its genetic ancestors. On the other hand, the genetics of Amnesia Haze can be found in South Asian and Jamaican strains "

Edit: Possibly Enemy Of The State origins? Who knows ..just what Google laid out when I searched it.

(Tempted to grab some beans if that one just for shits)

I'm totally tripping out because I just finished a Skunk variant grow and looking at this Amnesia have had many thoughts... "Why does this plant look a lot like my last grow"?

Holy shit... $3200 for 5 beans of OG Amnesia!? Crazy .

Possibly yes, that was the accepted idea for years. But yeah, who knows. It's quite possible it's just an SSH pheno... from another forum

"The hy-pro family are friends of mine. they brought me the amnesia/ssh years ago. they found a seed in the ssh from the greenhouse and grew it out. they called it amnesia but when i saw it i knew right away it was a ssh pheno, bubblegum, candy smelling and knock u out strong. over the years is has won many cups as ssh/amnesia, from many shops in the south, twins coffeshop, bio ibo and many others. so, not to take anything away from karma but he won the breeders cup with somone else's genetics. a rose by any other name is still a rose"

Due to it's popularity there are a lot of remixes and remakes under the same name. Some of them are less intense, that's usually a give away, but overall, I rarely had a bad amnesia regardless of the source. It's the stuff you can quick dry and will still smell and taste pretty good.

And yes, I've seen those rates a while ago. Supposedly only S1 seeds from original clone left or something. Crazy indeed.

I'm not surprised by all that. And I read somewhere that SSH was renamed by Nevil to Jack Herer. Something like that. Think it was a manuscript of a interview. I'm gonna have to hunt that down. (Hope I saved it)

@Sativied Hey bro, thanks for the insight on all of this, cool little rabbit hole for the day ..lol,
I found this online and am wondering what you think about it. Seems like this is one sure way to tell if you have the Amnesia or the Amnesia Haze.

THE NOSE KNOWS
Amnesia Haze has a terpene profile dominated by terpinolene which gives cardamon and marjoram their sweet bouquets. In almost equal quantities, Humulene the bitter smelling oil that gives mature hops there tangy, nose tingling, lemony lime citrus floral smell combines to the connoisseurs delight.

The ascendant terpene in Amnesia is Myrcene which gives wild thyme, ylang ylang and bay leaf their floral fragrances without the citrus tang. The composition is nuanced by Ocimene which adds a piquant suggestion of clove and is prized by perfumiers for its pleasant and heady herbal aroma.

Enemy of the state and viking are one and the same it explains why amnesia is so hardy too

I'm pretty bad at describing taste and odor and that's an understatement. I recognize it immediately when someone in Amsterdam passes by in the crowd, it's like a head turner 'hey amnesia...' but I'm no cannabis sommelier. That said, the description of Amnesia, the second in your post, makes sense to me. I vaguely remember the bay laurel association.

It really has that air dispersion effect, you know when you walk into a room and blow in fresh air by swinging the door or open a car window and the smell hits you extra. Haze is by many divided into spicy, perfumy and incense, Amensia has all of that imo but spicy above all.

However, the odd situation with two Amnesias wasn't just the names but the fact they were pretty similar aside from flower time. They were often sold interchangably but most of it certainly was Amnesia. Flower time meant everything. 5 runs a year or 4.... Given that any seed from Amnesia isn't exactly the original widely popular Amnesia clone, and Amnesia Haze seeds don't provide exact copies of each other, it's never a sure way probably, because there is overlap, with each other, with SSH pheno's, with S5 haze too. Taste, smell, structure even (Amnesia and people switching too late to 12/12 so they grew in to the lights with foxtails on top was not uncommon...).

Enemy of the state and viking are one and the same im pretty sure its one the same
Viking was never popular. It was beefed up with Skunk, which led to Top44, only popular for its short 44days flower duration. It also led to Victory, nothing special either. Those Viking x Skunk crosses were combined into Enemy of the State, which was never popular or special either, mostly only known as supposed parent of Amnesia. I don't see the point of speculating they are the same. Not even sure Enemy of the State is the parent of Amnesia, personally, I'm leaning towards the SSH-pheno story.
