My opinion, is that yes, advanced nutrients works... but so does general organics/hydroponics, cyco, & vegamatrix.
My issue, is with the billion and one WORTHLESS additives they (&most others) sell. Im sorry, but NOBODY could tell the difference - (visually or smoke-test wise) between the 2 plants grown with terpinator & a few other "bells and whistles" AN additives, in addition to the standard grow, bloom, Calmag, pk booster nutes that they were all getting. Thankfully we didnt pay for it, but scored it free at a trade show.
I prefer cyco for coco dwc but I only use their grow (a&b) bloom (a&b) & their potash booster - occasionally calmag if theyr asking for it. Oh - and mykos at germination (in the damp paper towel) & transplant (in the dirt). Maybe Im just lucky... but im pulling 0.8-1.2grams/watt, without all the extra, expinsive nutrient add-ons.
If Im growing organic, in soil, I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest mixed 4-1 with perlite. Mykos used same as above. I prefer the Vegamatrix line for soil, but again - I only use the grow, bloom & booster. Maybe its the soil, maybe the strain, or both - but I just dont seem to have CalMag issues regularly, & I often do fine without it. Def keep it on hand, though. In short - especially if youre new, I recommend just sticking with a company's "grow, bloom, boost" basic nutes, so you can get an idea if what your baseline is, & can use that baseline to help guide you in nute decisions for future grows. Best of luck!
