Well for one, I'd like to be able to donate blood. I would love to take part in the Boy Scouts again. I was a damn good scout. Stuff like that.
i donated blood quite a few times 9sold blood too when shit gets tight) and i never got asked "are you gay?"

they ask if i am and IV drug user, if i have hepetitus, if im on mediactions, etc, but they never asked if i'm gay.

maybe your blood bank has issues, but mine doesnt.

no.

in all states, uniformly and equally.

this is why we have a 14th amendment.

the SCOTUS will take care of this, and i thank Dog that obama will be there to make the next two picks instead of this guy.

have you ever seen evil personified that well?

carne has also posted that list you so desired. go get 'em one by one, bitch.
Marriage equality covers all of those smart arse.

But what if someone catches "the gay" off gay people's blood?!

no, it does not.

marital status (protected, i believe) covers sexual orientation for those who are married (in some states, if marital status is protected), but marriage equality does nothing for those who are not married and face discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in most states.

did you note how protection based on sexual orientation is biased towards democratic states? this is why the GOP will go extinct if they do not start shaping up.

SO, this election over and I need a hiatus from politics 4 a while! I am totally burned out on the issues! I would like to see some progress happen while I'm not paying attention to US Politics 4 a while! I can tell U 1 thing - I'm hoping 4 MORE gay rights from Obama and MORE Tolerance towards cannabis on a National level

Until then, here's a video clip from Monty Python ...A Spoof about Election Night! A must see clip!!

Your blood bank is the exception, and technically violating the policy of the FDA. If you're a homosexual male, you are not allowed to donate blood. http://www.fda.gov/biologicsbloodvaccines/bloodbloodproducts/questionsaboutblood/ucm108186.htm

Oh for the love of God! Really? Guys, you must be kidding. Of course the gay community is one of the last "classes" of people not protected with equal rights. It's pathetic that in this day and age it still has to be explained. UB is correct in saying that the 14th amendment should cover this, but unfortunately they are waiting for a supreme court ruling to enforce it.
Don't get me wrong. I do not think the gay community, or any other class deserves special rights. But they do deserve equal rights and protections under the law. Anything else is just plain wrong.
And this shouldn't have to be explained...
Color me disappointed in some on this thread.

Don't paint me with that brush, I was merely seeking a specific "list of demands".

Fuck Your Demands!
Lol, they were actually supposed to be your demands if you were able to get exactly what you wanted.

You say "Fix the system" and I say "ok how?" and you reply with "fuck your demands".

Good luck with that sort of attitude bro.

Maybe it was your choice of words and inaccurate interpretation of what was said. Terrorists and kidnappers have a "list of demands". Citizens/people/taxpayers expect "equal rights". And what kind of attitude do you normally expect when you're acting snarky and dismissive towards someone...........bro? :)

Because the OP wouldn't address the specific thing put to him, which was specifically what he would consider equal rights.

What is the perfect "end-game" result?

I think thats about it,marriage equality, and the end of gay specific discrimination. There were some pretty detailed lists of what that entails a couple pages back if that isnt specific enough.

So can Lord Obama not just do those two things then? Make discrimination illegal and grant full marriage rights? On an issue he supposedly supports?

We have full equal rights for gay people which have large majority public support.

You don't, and somehow I'm the problem?

The problem is the whole issue is being used as political capital because demands for "equality" arnt specific enough.
