Onan's death was retribution for being "evil in the sight of the Lord" and disobeying a direct order from the Lord by being unwilling to father a child by his widowed sister-in-law.

So god is sending 535 million Buddhists like myself to hell? Because they don't believe in the Good Book in any form, unlike the Jews, Muslims, and Mormons. What a loving and gracious god you got there!
I too also wish you well getting out of being stuck in the cycle of rebirth (samsara). Because we believe your god is every bit as real as our celestial Lord Buddha. But, we also believe the gods are unenlightened, although they have extreme power, they're still bound to this world, and stuck in the cycle of rebirth like any other who doesn't put their faith in the celestial Lord Buddha.
Isn't my deity's better than yours great?

I am not sure where that blurb about God sending people to hell came from? I made a simple statement that someday you will know whether you are right or wrong, then wished you well. You took my simple statement and made a platform for yourself by making up 2 paragraphs of BS that I didn't even state or imply. Welcome to the forum Mr Trump.
Just because we may differ in beliefs or views I do not consider a reason to be confrontational or disrespectful. The world would be a much better place if we could all listen to and respect others opinions. I wish you well. You and Hash do add an element of spice to the forum though.

I personally don't assume anyone will find out when they die what that they don't already believe. Since my beliefs aren't yours, and your's aren't mine. The path you take for getting out of Samsara is a personal one only you can take. Heaven and Hell are ficticious places we go to after we die because of false beliefs, and eventually those beliefs get destroyed, resulting in a rebirth.
I know what's happening to me, it's a fact. I'm getting escorted by Gaunyin to Sukhavati so I can learn from Lord Buddha how to purify myself, and become a Bodhisvatta to come back and help all others (who may very well be you) still stuck in Samsara.

Energy and karma are impermanent, but are the cause of why the cycle of rebirth happens. After you realize you're no longer subjugated to either, that's when you attain Moksha (freedom). Gods do exist, but they don't have this unlimited power most people who worship them think they do. They too are stuck in Samsara, and below that of a Buddha who's purposefully decided not to experience Moksha/Nibbana, because they wish to help others, although they most certainly have that ability.
A god has no power to control your own personal energy and karma which only belong to you. They can't send you to hell, or let you into heaven. Those are false beliefs, and only give you temporary grief or joy.
