Here we go again...

Tried a bit of a curve-ball strain this time

Be interesting to see how they turn out!

Same set up as before,
1x1x1.8 tent
300w MAxibright LED
Helia air pump
Helia water chiller
Mammouth EC extractor
Deep water culture (oxy-pot)

Nutes:
Shogun hydro nutes
Peroxide based water conditoner

Nothing to report yet as just in the process of germination and steralizing my kit..

*Slight change in that I've used peat plugs to germintate directly in, as opposed to germing in paper towel, then putting in root riots, and then putting into pots.
I'll more then likely put them into the DWC tomorrow as they look strong enough.

We are in the DWC ...all looking good apart from low air temps LED really doesnt help with this... Think I'm gonna pick up an oil filled portable radiator to put outside the tent - the tent is in a vry small room so it should be enough.

Bit of an update -

Only 2 plants now - rookie error - I used peat pellets rather than my usual root riots..the dry hockey puck style ones that you soak and they expand. The smallest plant was a bit too small to put into the DWC, and dried out as i took my eye off the ball and the roots couldnt make it to the moisture zone before it was to late, oh well, lesson learned!

I topped them today and pruned some scraggy leaves off.

Roots look great

Some of the old leaves are getting a bit crispy though - see pics, not sure why, vitals statistics are all in range, with an EC of 1.1 PH 6 _ I had them under light 24/7 though, so I've changed to 18/6 today aswell.

I've decided I'm not happy with the blue golf ball airstones any more, either, as they tend to degrade after one grow, with the black hose bit coming off the blue stone, so i bought a 5 pack, and one of those broke in the same way before use just putting the hose on. anyone got any suggestions of replacements in future?

Maybe a T peice on the end of the hose with a circle/loop of hose with some holes poked into it?

I think I'm going to rotate the lid of the rez too, so the larger plant is at the back, hopefully make future maintenence easier before the plants get too big/tangled up roots to move them.

Although I've seen it before when a smaller plant can end up cathing up and getting bigger than the other ones... so I dunno yet - I'll see how they respond to being topped first, I think.

So things went badlly wrong... (all my fault as per usual!)

My PH was a bit high so I thought my above issues might be due to nutrient lock-out... (as my EC was prety low at about 0.9)

So without really thinking I chucked 'a bit' of 'PH down' straight into the rez..., in case anyone needs reminding, 81% pure phosphoric acid is VERY STRONG STUFF and should be given in terms of 'drops' rather than just pouring a glug in and hoping for the best.

Rez swung WAY too acidic, plants basically collapsed.

So a full rez change and rebalance, we seem to be recovering now, although I've set myself back a few weeks from this mess - this is why I like Photos rather than Autos - if you make a catastrophic fuck up like this, you can keep them in veg until they hopefully recover properly!

BUt I have topped them before this epsiode, so hopefully I won't have an overcrowding problem :P

Quick update as the site has been down, but the plants wait for no one...

Good recovery from the last update, and flowering well at the moment..
