Is there a manufacturer / model number on those sexy chrome ones?I just ordered a kit from rapid led...they said they were angelina reflectors but when they came, they were much bigger, not white but chrome looking as you say. If i had one of those fancy light meters i would do a test to see the light spread of these different reflectors.
And i had noticed the light that comes out around the base of the holder...thought maybe high temp silicone but decided it wasnt much and that light was going to the side the same before i put the reflector on and its not much.
The white transcluent Angelina is the most efficient Ledil reflector for 3590. I don't think that wrapping them in tin foil would do them any good.My question is what's wrong with a 60 degree metallized Angelina? Who made the determination that a 90 degree beam angle is required or even desirable? It's like one guy bought the 90s and every single person after that just blindly imitated the first guy. A 90 degree beam is not intense downward directed light. I haven't even seen one post where somebody displayed independent thought and bought the 60 degree metallic Angelinas instead of the 90 degree translucent ones. Literally every damn person on here bought those translucent sidelighting under counter reflectors and never even asked themselves why the hell am I buying this shit, I can see right through this, who the hell thought this was a good idea? Nope, never crossed their mind.
But yeah, I would wrap those in foil. If you start wrapping it inside and then fold it back around the outside it will stay on by itself because it's all wrapped up. No tape required. See how I did it on a LED bulb after cutting off most of the diffuser? Single piece of foil. I give the inside a polish with some tissue when it's done to get the fingerprints off. The fact that it's a little crinkly doesn't matter. It'll just diffuse the light a little. Will foil have as much or more reflectivity than the translucent plastic? I don't know. Guess you'd have to do some tests. At least none is getting through.
Aluminum foil absorbs more light than it reflects!!My question is what's wrong with a 60 degree metallized Angelina? No it doesn'tAluminum foil absorbs more light than it reflects!!
So the aluminum foil absorbing light is some more bad riu info??If you want most light on the plants, don't use a reflector at all and reduce the distance to the canopy. Usually around half for a 115 degree beam angle compared to 90 degrees.
No it doesn't
Inside? Outside? Both? I've got cans and cans of plastic spray paint..I'm painting mine with BEHR Premium Plus.
Ultra Pure White Flat Zero VOC Interior Paint #1050
I dipped them, so both.Inside? Outside? Both? I've got cans and cans of plastic spray paint..
Problem solved!Wrapped externally only - leave the reflector to reflect and I've just tried to keep all light within the shade]
Yeah that worked well. Outside should suffice. Now, somebody could make some money by producing metallic 90 degree COB reflectors. They would totally scoop all of Ledil's DIY COB grow light customers. How hard could it be? You've got the model right there to copy. Just a "coincidence" that it's exactly like Ledil's.Wrapped externally only - leave the reflector to reflect and I've just tried to keep all light within the shade...
Got to love aluminium tape!
