Ann Arbor MMJ Pre-2008

Does anyone know how the AAPD handled mmj cases, growing in particular, before the 2008 ballot initiative was passed? Ann Arbor has a 2004 local ballot initiative that legalized mmj with a doctor's recommendation, but the question is whether the AAPD enforced state law and ignored the local initiative from 2004-2008. It's an important question because if we lose our growing rights at a state level, we may still have Ann Arbor...

Fuck me I hate Cali..... But it's looking like the safest place to grow in the states.....

These kids from cali with their cali attitude kill me with the responses,fuk cali,while the residents in cali were getting felony charges for a single joint ann arbor residents were not being bothered by police.

All through the 70's & 80's the hash bash was the mecca for dope smokers,small personal amounts were a minor misdomenor with no court or criminal record if you paid the $25 fine,I'm pretty sure the fine was raised to $100 about 1985 but up until the mmj law it was still a misdomeanor.

It's actually been a civil infraction, same as a parking ticket, for possession, use, and sale... it was $5 up until 1991 at which point it became $25 for the first offense with higher tickets after that.

I believe the ticket is $50 now, at least it was for a long time. The problem is that this is strictly to the city limits of A2, and NOT the U of M Campus, which sprawls the city in pockets. Get caught by them, got to jail with no card for sure. Also, areas that people think is A2, is actually Pittsfield County PD. They are pretty cool, but not when it comes to MJ.......

It's a liberal place, but just be aware of where you are. Ypsi is still allowing dispensaries to open if they can fit into a specific area and a bunch of other criteria. That place has a ton of great dispensaries, especially at Herbal Solutions, they're the best in town period.

Stay away from the Ann Arbor Collective, the Depot Town Dispensary, and their new one Canna Care.....all owned by the same people, they're rich, know nothing about the industry for people that own so much of it, their bud tenders are ignorant, and they're all in it for the $ period. Fuck them.
