Another budget closet grow! :D

It presents it's own challenges, but it's fun. I don't have much space to work with this time around so innovation is key. I'm also in an apartment and privacy is a must.

I'm going to be using an ebb and flow system with cfl's. Most of what I use is going to be recycled and reused stuff, and so in a way this going to be a uh, "green" grow lol. Who knows? Maybe some one will read this some day and learn how to make something out of nothing, and that'll make this worth it. Feel free to add anything or just input.

Just an idea of how it's going.

Let me know if these pics are shaped weird or not. I'm on my phone and they look kinda squished.

I poked a hole in the drywall and found a bit of a gap between it and the outer wall. So i'm thinking I can use it for somewhat fresh air, only thing is, should I pull air in, or blow it out? I have 2 fans, one for the vent, and the other for the plants. I ran a test to see how hot it could get, and in the span of a couple of hours it got up to about 95 degrees. That's with no fans, all the lights on and the door closed.

So here's what I got. I used a drier vent and s right-angle piece.

if that hole is near the top of the closet pull air out, if its near the bottom pull air in

Look's good for a space....how big? CFL's or T5's or LED? you can do nicely if you plan it out in the worst case senerio....landloard call's want's inspection ect....Have larg boxes read in a moment's notice to move the girl's until company leaves... stack camping gear in front of closet and cover story ready ..just got back or just getting ready to go sorry about the clutter in that room. Wishing you the best my brother! Life's short enjoy the grow! jack

Thanks. I'll be using multiple cfls. As for security, I had an idea. I recently moved from a house to an apartment, so we still have unpacked boxes. I can fashion a cover out of boxes. So if I need to hide it, I can make it look like a pile of boxes.
As far as deminsions go, my grow tray is 24in wide by 16 deep, and I have about 5 feet in height.

you're not going to hide the smell with boxes, plus you should vent out that heat, i'd buy a Can carbon filter and make a negative vacuum in the space the plants are...
just my 2 cents..

Oh yeah, carbon filter is a must. With my space being so small, at some point heat will be an issue. So my vent will be pull hot air out. Asfor smell, i'm goint to use Ona Block. I haven't used it before, but I hear good things.

Don't put ONA in the room, they work but they will transfer a chemically taste to your plant in the right conditions.

I've always just used store bought carbon filters like the small ones you put in the corner of a room, then adapted them to fit :)

Hey thanks for that bit of info. I did't know that. Maybe i'll just use the Ona inmy my own room rather than my grow room.. I can rig an exhaust filter with the ona .

They are great so long as not in the tent with the plant. Just by the exhaust is good.

Also when you get it in the tub instead of taking the lid off just poke a few holes in, if you can still smell your plants poke more, makes the block last a bit longer.

Sweet, thanks. I picked up some supplies today, so I should be starting my grow soon. You should drop by and check it out sometime.

a carbon filter and a negative vacuum are all you need, ONA is a scam, trust me i sold it for years.

And don't EVER trust YOUR fucking nose to smell YOUR weed either. Be assured of a neg vac via a smoke test (get high), and under flow the minimum CFM rating of a quality Can carbon filter.
