Vero is no good?
Yeah, I can't see a 2x2 tent holding more than two half SCROG'd plants, let alone 3. One good SCROG job should cover the entire 2x2. I'm only going to run 2 plants per 5x4 footprint.what do you guys think about 1x 5000k cxa3070 and 3x 3000k cxa3070 in a 2x2 tent over 2 or 3 scrogged plants. would around 200g be possible?
My two cents...that pretty LSD looks like it could go weeks longer no? I could see 1.25 g/w at the least.Day 53 and I'm chopping the LSD. I'll let the DS go a couple more days, the entire plant fox tailed two days ago. The LSD looks like it's got some good weight.
I've found that all my plants are ready at least a week earlier than their suppose to be. I'm sure it's a combination things I use, 13.5/10.5 light schedule,730nm and UVA/UVB. LSD is suppose to go 60-65 days but I scoped her and she was showing some amber over most of the plant. I could have let her go another week but it's summer and the weather here has been really strange and the mold pollen count is through the roof so I was taking no chances. She gets lots of very dense large buds and I let her go longer last summer and got some bud rot. My Critical Kush can be cut at day 50 with amber using this light combo. My two cents...that pretty LSD looks like it could go weeks longer no? I could see 1.25 g/w at the least.
Thanks ILP, I would like to do that comparison some time but for now it's turn and burn. I think I'll call Bill at growlightsource.com where I bought the 730 nm floods from and see if he has any side by side data he'll share. I still see people saying that they don't believe in it but there is no doubt in my mind and my numbers speak for them selves.Great Scott! Those are some happy plants. You have a wonderful setup, I got nerdy and decided to do some quick math which lacks a lot of variables but could glean a general idea of the "bang for your buck" on those flower initiators in this particular setup. Basing this off of your Critical Kush 50 day run using the modified schedule you would run ~ 201.24 KW in 3070's (312w was used for the calculation so no initiator) total for the 50days of use averaging 4.0248KW per day. Running a "regular" lighting schedule of 12/12 for 55-60 which is suggested by Barney Farms runs ~205.92 to 224.64 KW in 3070's or 3.744KWH per day, just over a longer period so a higher total KW. This increases crop/watt efficiency by about 2.3-11.7 depending on your preferred pick time which for the purposes of this test I will assume is impeccable and you get that 11.7%. Without taking into account bud mass, you have saved a lot of KWH on your electric bill overall and you could crop out 7.3 times per year versus the 6.08 from the 60 day run. What does this all mean? Assuming you get identical yield per crop, 50day VS 60day, you gain approximately 20% more per year. So you save 11.7% on energy costs/crop and gain 1.28 crops per year. Pretty nifty flower initiator/schedule as long as the yield is the same size each crop.
The thing that I would be interested to see, a full grow of a certain cut using the standard schedule vs the modified schedule from the flower initiator. What if this could be improved upon too? My mouth is so full of saliva. That being said you spend 8.5 KW per 50 day grow on the initiator vs 0 on a standard schedule. So if you could yield the same in 55 days in a standard schedule you would run 3.82 KW less for the total grow, or save 1.8% of electrical cost per crop vs your modified schedule. Even so you would be losing 10% of total crops per year which would negate any electrical savings.
If you have the time and the space, maybe small scale, please test out yield between two clones of the same strain with nearly identical vegetative growth. I would love to see the difference in yield the schedule changes make, that way you could work out an overall efficiency improvement for adding 10 minutes of the flower initiator each day. Sorry for the wall of text CaptainMorgan it just seems like the last guy who tested those flowering initiators on this site didn't answer a lot of questions.
Anyway..... those 3070's sure do seem great! Keep up the amazing work, that Deathstar looks super dank!
Sincerely,
