Don't go overboard with the setup, germination can be as easy as soaking a seed in water for a few hours then sticking it straight into your growing medium.

Learn everything you can from your first grow then apply what you've learned to the rest of your grows.

Mary Jane is a weed so it can take a shit tonne of punishment so don't worry too much about the little things.

1 last thing... The 3 R's, read, research and read is the best advice anyone can give especially when this forum has such a ridiculous wealth of knowledge.

Mate, the best way is to dampen a tissue so it has no dry parts put the seed on the tissue wrap the tissue around then put it inside of an airtight sealable baggie, Will be sprouted with 2 days maximum

ph levels are most important imo

generally people do 18hours on/6hours off OR 20/4 OR 24/0 ... any one of them would be a good starting point for the first few weeks, then the general consensus is to switch to 12/12... you'll get the gist, just read... I learned most of my growing by doing which, imho, is the best way to learn.
