Any Advice on my Grow Tent setup?

I have a 36"-36"-72" Grow tent, and I finally have most of the pieces I need to set it up. For now I am going to be using 2-6" Inline fans, 1-6" Carbon Filter, 1-600W HPS light with an Air Cooled Hood, 6" ducting, 1-mini clip on fan, and 1-standard house fan. I plan on setting it up with one of the following two options, and I'm not sure which one would work best. OR if there may be a third option I'm just not thinking of. ANY opinions/advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Option #1: One of the Inline Fans pulling the hot, stinky air from the top of the tent, through the Carbon Filter, and out through the window directly behind the tent. Then I would use the other Inline Fan to pull hot air through from the hood and out through the top of the tent. The only problem with this is the air won't be filtered for smell, so I would have to vent it back into the top of the room. I should mention, though, that I live in the mountains and although it gets a bit hot in the room right now, in a month or so I may NEED the hot air to keep the plants from freezing. I plan on having a standard House Fan blowing fresh air into the bottom of the tent through the vent on the side, and a Clip-on Fan circulating the air on top of the canopy.

Option #2: Both of the Inline Fans connected to the Air Cooled Hood; one fan pushing air through the hood with the other pulling the air from the other end. I will connect the Carbon Filter with the ducting to one fan so that it will pull the stinky air from the top of the tent through the filter, then that clean air will be pulled through the hood and out through the vent in the back of the tent to the window. This way, all the hot air will be filtered and vented out of the tent AND the room. Right now, the temp in the tent averages about 83.

To battle the heat for now, I keep the tent open during the time the light is on, which is from 7PM to 7AM, and that helps but would rather have the temps closer to 78; Certainly not more than 80! But like I said, in the winter the heat will NOT be an issue, as it rarely gets more than 30 during the day.

Again, any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Here are some pics of my ladies currently in the 5th week of flowering. They are troopers...they didn't have the luxury of filters and ducting and clip fans! lol....my new babies are going to love their upgraded deluxe flowering suite!

I personally like the first option, with one change though. I would add an intake from outside air to the open intake side of the hood.

Cant wait to see this being built.

AHA....so that way the air being pulled from the hood would be from OUTSIDE the tent, meaning it would be less stinky, yes? And much cooler, I would imagine. Thanks for the advice...just waiting on the ducting and scrubber to come in the mail and it will all be set up...Pics of the final setup and harvest of this crop to follow shortly!

Well after some patient waiting I will finally be receiving the rest of my stuff!I can't wait to install the final setup!Just put my rooted seedlings in a Fox Farm mix and started some other seeds germinating on top of my new heat mat (Temps are getting in to the 20's @ night and barely making it to 50 in the day!)So the heat mat here is a MUST.The aroma of the buds make me wanna harvest but I know for sure they need 2 more weeks tops,But I will know for sure when my new scope arrives tomorrow!Pics of the final setup with some new additions (thank you Budling!) will follow shortly.

Okay, here is my newly improved setup...still want to make a few changes but am happy with how I was able to fit everything in.

Had to McGuyver a few things...the tent came with 4" vents instead of the 6" I thought it would have, so I had to use creative measures and cut cardboard to reduce the ducting and vent the air. All in all, I went with the second option (from my first post). The only thing I added was a short length of ducting to the hood to suck in the cool air from the lower part of the tent to help cool the hood. Works wonders!! The temp before all this was done was 84, and now it is a steady 78! Thanks for the advice Budling, helped a LOT!

Oh yeah, here are a couple pics of the crop getting ready for harvest. The temps have dropped to freezing at night (not that low in the GR), so the buds have started to turn purple on a couple plants. NICE!!!

LOL....I'm such a "medicator"!! I meant to say I went with the FIRST option from my first post...much better, more efficient air movement. :)

I've got a very similar tent and let me stick my question in here instead of starting a new thread, please:

72" tall Homebox but with my big HydroFarm radiant reflector and the gap between the bulb and the flowers I'll have less than 5' vertical to work with. Should I even consider a sativa dominant strain? Or can topping, training, scrogging make it possible to grow a Sativa successfully in that kind of space? Anyone recommend a strain that might work? I'm using soil and I'm a novice at this.

I want two kinds of smoke. On work nights after gym and chores I got 90 minutes to relax and then get to bed. Indica for sure. But Saturday or Sunday night I'm playing the guitar, recording, composing in Pro Tools. I don't want a sleepy high. I want to keep a clearer head and have energy. Sativa I'm thinking.

I'm pretty new to this as well, at least with growing indoors in a tent. Right now we are growing 2 sativas, and 2 indicas. The sativas are Chem D and some unknown purple strain we got from a sack years ago, so can't really say what it is; and the indicas are Bubba kush and Master kush. Either way, the 2 sativas grew taller much faster than the indicas. I put them in to flower at the same time and actually have to have the indicas elevated to keep the canopy even.
If you have a limited space to work with, it is best to flower your plants when they are still short. Mine were between 12 and 15 inches when they went into flowering. Just keep in mind they pretty much double in size when they flower, so it's pretty easy to guess the right time to flower them.
If you know about topping and bending plants, you could easily do that to keep your plants shorter and bushier. That way they can get bigger and yield more without getting too close to the light. Also, just make sure you can keep the shorter plants vegging longer to catch up to the taller ones before flowering....no matter what method you use it is ALWAYS better to have an even canopy.
So, I would recommend looking into strains before you choose one. Pick strains that have a tendency to be bushy, with high yields! If I think of some good ones I'll let you know! Good luck, start a grow journal so we can all see the progress!!
